My wife and I arrived in Manzanillo not having booked any rooms. I had done my research and found a number of places to stay so weren't worried. We wanted to stay in the Santiago area so I decided on Hotel Hawaii to start with. If we liked it' we would stay if not, move on. We moved on the next morning! Couldn't wait to get out! What you see on their web site is not what you get. The property they show on the web site is not theirs. It is actually behind the hotel across a vacant lot. It is actually someone's private property.
Hotel Hawaii is old and has a courtyard full of bamboo. You can hear everyone and everything that goes on in each room and every floor. We got 2 towels, one sheet and a small poorly lit room. The drinking water was down the hall but there was nothing to put it in. There was no soap in the room at all. The breakfast that came with the price of the room was just as bad. We had huevos rancheros which was unlike any I've ever seen before. It came with 2 slices of bread????
I wouldn't suggest even going to look at it!
