We stayed at the Dolphin Cove Inn hotel in Manzanillo for four nights, from December 18th to the 22nd. It is a shared property (hotel and shared condos) that has two different reception offices, one for the hotel, one for the condos. It is a mediterranean style property, with four rooms in each small building. It has a very good sight of the bay, and depending on the level where your room is located, you´d have a nice view of the sea. The Paradise restaurant, although modest, serves good mexican food, and the prices are just right. Crews from the yatches standing in the nearby Las Hadas marina were having dinner here, a good sign of the value the restaurant offers. Service is good, and friendly.
The rooms are big and comfortable, and could use some sort of renovation. The towels are clean and smell fine although very old and worn. The hotel offers a small convenient store and a kitchenette that we did not use. You could find the beach loses its appeal if you find it difficult to climb the 80+ steps of the ladder on your way back to your room. The hotel offers a ride on a golf cart to the lower levels, but you have to ask for it in advance which makes it a little inconvenient. The hotel was practically empty during our stay, with less than 40 people-the threshold for a breakfast buffett. I rather have the a-la-carte breakfast than the buffett, wich although tasty and good, offers limited options. The beach is narrow, so you can´t practically stay there during the day, but the hotel has several spaces in a terrace. Because the hotel was practically empty, we could enjoy a VERY peaceful rest during our vacation trip. It´s difficult to say if it would be the same during a different season of the year. Overall, it was a very good experience to stay at the Dolphin Cove Inn.
