“Go now ! It wont last.”

Just came back from Grand Bay last night and only have good things to say about the resort and the Staff. This resort only opened resently to the all inclusive and you can tell by the 1st class treatement of the guests from the staff. From the general manager to the grounds keeper I give a 5 starr. We had a confusion with our room upon arrival and had too request another as we booked through transit holidays and paid for a luxury suit .
After talking to the hotel we found out that this is only a junior suite and it is a money grab from the holiday provider and not the hotels fault. The Transit rep is Cold and no help whatsoever,
Live and learn ! dont wast the money on an upgrade !
The food is good .the hotel is great. the staff are awsome.
Not a real party place , quite with class.
Yes We would go back.
And we did get to meet Gordie when we were there !

Room Tip: Complain !!!! The Hotel will do their best if they can. Take what you get and enjoy !

“A great deal”

We went to Grand Bay on an all inclusive the last week of January. Of all the resorts in Mexico and the Caribbean that we have stayed at this whole experience was the best. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food was far better than we had expected and the golf course was very good. Both of the non-buffet restaurants were true 5 star in both food quality and in service.
The only areas that need a bit of improvement would be pool seating and internet. People reserved lounges with a towel and a book for the whole day while spending only a few hours there. They need some supervision that keeps the lounges available when people leave. The internet is expensive and should be included in the all inclusive package even if it puts the price up a bit as it is a nuisance the way it currently operates. Most hotels of this caliber include Wi Fi service.
We will certainly be back next year and only hope it is as good then.

Room Tip: Any room above the 2nd floor gives a good view. Pay the few dollars extra for a luxury suite and ha...

“Great vacation!”

We (family of 3) traveled to Grand Bay Isla Navidad for 7 day all inclusive vacation.
The hotel is very elegant with upscale finishing. Large rooms with balconies. We liked food very much: variety of everything with "theme" food at Grand Cafe. Beautiful "Antonio's" restaurant with great French cuisine and truly royal treatment (thank you Ernesto!). Staff is very helpful and the person who made our stay wonderful is JULIO from the front desk: very attentive, kind and understanding. We appreciated everything !
Terrific value for the money. I would definitely recommend this place.

Room Tip: Rooms are facing pool or marina. Clean and nice, no "dump " feeling as we experienced in s...

“Our 11th annual trip to the Grand |Bay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

Obviously we love this "home away from home". As you have read other reviews you will see that this is the first month that this luxury traditional hotel has offerred "all inclusive packages" along with having the regular conventional guest format. With that in mind, yes, there is a need to sign for various items. If you are looking for the "belly up to the bar or food troughs" then I suggest you look at other hotels. The Grand Bay is a traditional luxury facility and we would hate to see it lower it's standards to meet the "new wave" of some not so well behaved guests who obviously just want to binge and make a pig of themselves.

We have just returned after a 3 week stay and majority of the guest we spoke with absolutely love the place. I do not golf however all golfers were impressed with the 27 hole course ( it has been rated as Mexico's second best course) and plan on returning. As far as the meals- we usually have the breakfast buffet or occasionally order off the menu. For lunch and dinner, we would certainly get bored having every meal at the hotel. The town of Barra offers dozens of unique places from economy Mexico Lindo| ( very good and cheap) to Sambuccca's by the Big tree at very fair prices. If you love seafood and shrimps a must is Fortino's located on the water in Colima a short walk from the hotel lobby, in fact the golf course shuttle passes the doorway. After reading other reviews it is apparent that you can not please everyone. Nothing is perfect but we do several vacations every year to other places and use all inclusive and regular hotels. We continue to return to the Grand Bay because of the it is very safe, the staff are second to none and we get full value for our money.
If you wish to ask us any questions please send them as we highly recommend the hotel and area.
One final comment. If you are on an all inclusive packet you are getting a very good deal pricewise but don't forget the staff work damn hard for you so please leave a few bucks on the side for them. Further if you MUST smoke please follow the non smoking area policy. For some it is highly offensive and like myself, many have or are overcoming cancer treatments and your smoke is extemely offensive. Thank you..

Room Tip: smoking has just been re allowed in some areas so bear that in mind

“Grand Bay Hotel Isla Navidad”

In December I travelled to Manzanillo for a work trip...(as a Travel Agent I like to explore different areas and hotels for my clients). I visited 7 different properties in the area of Manzanillo and was pleasantly surprised with the area and the resorts.
My favorite was the Grand Bay Hotel Isla Navidad. The hotel was at a low capacity for December but if you are looking for a relaxing getaway with great food and a perfect location for sun & shopping - this is it!
The staff were attentive and friendly all the time. The rooms felt like a combination of Italy and Mexico and were very upscale. The pool area was nice, plenty of comfortable chairs, swim up pool bar and service at your chair....all good.
The little ferry ride to Barra de Navidad gave you a taste of local living with some shopping close by but they weren't on the property hassling you so it was perfect.
The food was wonderful and views fantastic. I can't wait to return and plan to bring at least a dozen family members with me....this resort has the space and service that everyone would appreciate. No need to save your chair, no loud music playing at the pool - perfect!!!
