“What a nice place”

A group of us was at the Hotel la Posada mid January. It is a small, clean, quiet hotel with fantastic service. The daily breakfast served by Crystal was great, and the big self serve coffee urns were always full. If you wanted to sit on the beach, Jesus would grab an umbrella for you and plop it in the sand. Juan (owner) & Monica (afternoon hostess) spoke perfect english and were always willing to offer tips on what (or what not) do. Monica also makes wonderful Pina Coladas! It was also facinating watching the huge ships come and go from the marina.

One tip - I don't know if it was an exceptionally bad year, or if Manzanillo is always like this, but make sure to bring some bug spray. There were some people in our group who got chewed up pretty good by the mosquitos. Also, there is not alot of night life or restaurants within walking distance from the hotel, so if you are looking for a party place, this would not be my choice. But if you are looking for a quiet, relaxing vacation, where you get treated great this is the place!

Room Tip: Nice patio off room 14.

What a wonderful place to stay! The rooms were clean and the staff was incredible! Juan the owner lives right on the property and speaks perfect english. His evening staff member Monica was a great help in finding us great restaurants and also helping to aquire taxis for our large group to get up to Bara de Navidad to visit friends.
Breakfast was served everyday with enough choices to keep the most picky eaters happy.
Friendly and helpful staff and it sure helps that it was located right on the ocean.
I would recommend this lovely bed and breakfast hotel to anyone.
Not a fancy place but safe and relaxing.. You feel like family as soon as you arrive.
Just go....

“Our Home Away From Home”

We have been going to LaPosada for 8 yrs now and have been increasing our stay every year. We rented the apt associated with the hotel for a full month 10/29-11/29/2010 and have made reservations for the same time frame next year. The staff has become our 2nd family. We always have felt safe there. As with any travel, you need to be smart to be safe. Know your surroundings. This yr we again made an overnite trip to Guadalajara with some of our Mexican family in Manzanillo. Had a great time. Felt no threats what-so-ever in Guadalajar, Tonala, Tequilla or Tlaqueapaque. If you haven't taken this trip, please do. As always the hotel staff is most accomodating, assisting in getting taxis, advise on shopping and side trips as well as fishing. If you are fortunate enuf to make a good catch, ask Juan Carlos if the staff will prepare your catch for you. There is a small fee for this service but you can count on an excellent meal. If you haven't tried Monica's LaPosada Sunset drink in the sala, do - you are in for a treat.

Room Tip: All the rooms are good but if you are staying for longer than a week, I suggest you ask for room 19...

“Relaxing and Peaceful”

We spent 3 days at La Posada after Christmas. The hotel staff was very pleasant and Monica, although not the owner, ran the place like a smooth machine, accomodating our every request, be it a taxi or a fishing charter. (Monica speaks perfect English.) The common room, or sala, was what made it for me. It's a large tiled room with brickwork and wide open arches. The breeze seemed to pass through no matter the time of day. Plenty of outlets for charging electronic devices and great free wi-fi. People gathered in the sala for breakfast and again in the evenings to play games. Everyone was friendly. It was the perfect place to hang out. From the sala you can see the huge container ships, etc. going into and out of the port--it's very fun to watch all the activity. The rooms themselves are basic mexican hotel rooms, nothing fancy, but everything clean and function-able. My favorite thing was the drinks ice box--filled with sodas and beer, with little numbered clay pots on a shelf above the freezer. You help yourself to drinks whenever you want and put the bottle cap in your room's clay pot. So cute and so practical. At the end of the stay, they count the bottle caps and charge you accordingly. La Posada only has 26 rooms, so it definitely has a low-key, family feel as opposed to a large beach resort. Great choice!

Room Tip: Room 14 was our favorite

From the moment we arrived in Manzanillo, we had a very calm feeling wash over us. As it turned out for very good reason, the people of Manzanillo are very warm, loving and caring people who go out of their way to help you! As soon as we arrived at La Posada we knew we found something special, we were welcomed with open arms. The facilities were fantastic! The rooms were very clean, with character. The common area were the bar and breakfast, lunch area was, is very charming and comfortable with a great view of the pool and ocean! The owner Juan was very friendly and a very gracious host who always asked if there was anything he could do for you. Monika the manager of this fine Hotel, catered to our every need. Monika booked all our trips, ordered all our food and called all our taxi's. Did I mention she also made the most amazing drinks! What other hotel has a honour system for getting your own beer and pop? Our next trip to Safe Manzanillo will be spent at Hotel La Posada!!!

Room Tip: Room 14 has its own outside patio with a small table and chair that overlooks the pool and ocean and...
