My husband and I stayed at this hotel for three nights in the last week of August 09 and we really enjoyed it. We did not have big expectations, however we were pleasantly surprised. The service was very good and efficient. The food was authentic (I would know that since I'm Mexican), fresh and well priced. We recommend the lunch buffet since they have a great selection. The amenities are in very good condition and clean. It is not a place to relax if you go during high season for local tourists since it is a popular hotel for families. They do have lots of activities in the pool for children and adults and they use loud music for it. We first thought this was going to be annoying but actually it was a lot of fun. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

This hotel was nice. Located within walking distance to shopping and restaurants. They were overbooked (which I found out was a common occurance) They upgraded us to a condo with 3 floors. Look for Hector... he is usually in the lobby. He can get just about anything for you (trips, taxi. etc) He was a godsend for us. He even ran to the bank for us when we ran short on time. Tip him well.
The buffet was very good. We ate Italian one night. Food was Ok. Service was great. My sister- in - law caught a sailfish and the cook prepared it 2 ways. It was the best fish ever. He even came out to greet us. We all felt very special.
The beach was black flagged our time there. No swimming, but had fun getting knocked over by waves!
The only complaint is the lack of chairs by the pool. The people who own condos there seem to think they can grab as many chairs as they want and hold them all day with a towel across it. One guy had his towel across a chair and whole table the whole week we were there. He came by the pool one day for just a few hours. Also, the lady next to us would get up in the middle of the night and grab 4 chairs and a table and put towels on them. All of this for her and her husband. She would bring them and put them under the trees in front of her condo and sit there. She came out of her condo and yelled at us when we took one of the chairs (before we knew it was her "territory"and she wasn't even out there) so we could drink coffee in the morning. After talking with the staff, this is a common problem and management doesn't do anything about it when they complain.
Had the best massage of my life at the hotel for $35. I wanted to return, but was too sunburned... dang it!! We went to the Island to snorkle and my sister had an hour massage for $10!!!!!

My boyfriend and I recently met up with his extended family at the Dorado Pacifico. While we did not book an all-inclusive stay, it certainly felt that way because of the high-quality service we received, the convenient amenities available at the hotel and the fact that we basically spent our 5 days in Ixtapa within 1 block of the hotel. The breakfast buffet was great and featured a variety of Mexican regional dishes. The poolside service was fantastic as was the swim-up bar. Our cousins had a great time with the family-friendly activities. Our room was cool and had a gorgeous panoramic view of the ocean and hotel zone. If you're looking for friendly staff who are all generally bilingual and a family friendly place, this is it.

I had a great time, had a blast . My friends here at work told me about this place, and I did not want to go, becuase I was afraid! But I had a great time. I have been looking on line for days now, actually months to find a good deal! And I think after today I will go again. I am online now!
