“Surely the best place to stay in La Crucecita”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

We stayed at Mision de los Arcos for a total of 3 nights, at the beginning and end of our trip to Oaxaca from Huatulco. Our room was absolutely immaculate. It looked like it had been recently redone or else extremely well maintained. The bed had a cushy pillow top mattress, the a/c worked well. For those settling in for a longer stay, there was lots of drawer & closet space. Desk staff were courteous & helpful The attached restaurant and ice cream bar are also very good.
We enjoyed staying in La Crucecita. The town is small enough to be cute, but large enough to have a good selection of shops, restaurants and services. The only drawback is the need to use a taxi (very inexpensive though ) to get to the beach. Nonetheless, we would certainly stay at Mision de Los Arcos again, if we return to Huatulco.

“Christmas at Mision de los Arcos”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

We enjoyed our stay at Mision de los Arcos over Christmas. The area has so much atmosphere in the evenings yet it is easy to escape back to the quiet of the hotel. Although in the centre of the town it was relatively cheap and easy to get to any of the bays or the beach club by taxi. The hotel was clean and well maintained and the staff friendly and helpful. Great restaurant and cafe. The only thing missing was a pool at the hotel.
A special thanks to the hotel for their assistance when our hire car company let us down. Would stay here again if back in Huatulco.

“A wonderful stay! A wonderful tour guide!”

We stayed at Mision de los Arcos from December 28th until January 8th and enjoyed every moment. We were able to do something new and exciting almost everyday thanks to some wonderful suggestions from Sam and Sherri. They introduced us to a wonderful tour guide named Alberto Espana Chavez, who took us hiking up in the mountains where we visited a coffee plantation and a quaint little orchid garden. His high level of knowledge and education was very apparent when he took us on another excursion to Copalita and was able to answer every question in detail, yet in a way that we understood (in very fluent English).Sam had some great beach reccomendations for both lounging and snorkelling and they all turned out to be fabulous, Violin being our favourite. Yoga with Sherri was so enjoyable and she made both my husband and I who are very inexperienced, feel very welcome in her class. The staff was amazing and payed special attention to the "details" such as making sure that we always had ice in our cooler, and placing little flower bouquets on our nightside table. The food at Terra Cotta was by far the best restaurant food in town but we did enjoy the many varieties of tamales and tacos that the street vendors had to offer aswell. We can hardly wait to return! Note: Alberto's email is spain1965@hotmail.com you can contact him before or after you arrive in Huatulco to book many different tours. He is very reputable and came highly reccomended by Sam and Sherri.

“Excellent hotel! Great Vacation!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

I just recently returned from my first solo vacation to Mexico and I lucked out by staying at Mision de los Arcos! The hotel was wonderful - the staff was courteous, the rooms were clean, bright and comfortable (I could have slept in that bed all day!) and the location was good - centrally located - right by the town square. The owners - Sherry and Sam - put this vacation over the top! Super helpful by helping point me in the right direction for tours, beaches, even the best dishes on the restaurant menu. Now about that restaurant menu - all of the food was sooo goood. I think I tried something new almost every meal...(and it was all great)....until I discovered the stuffed french toast. Is there a word for better than great?. I highly recommend it (and I tried it three times....just to make sure!). They have a solid wine list and good pairings with the food...and the desserts were all indulgent and satisfying (Carrot cake was a high point). But the trip was not all about the food. Sherry and Sam have great expertise about the area - and will share that knowledge with you so that you can make informed decisions about how to spend your time - I went on a great jet ski trip to visit the bays, toured the most recent archeological dig, tried out a massage and did some local shopping. My last night there I took part in a yoga class at the hotel taught by Sherry - and it was just what I needed to end a relaxing getaway. I will be back!!

“excellent staff, Incredible restaurant, good facilities, noisy neightboorhood”

I stayed at Mision de los Arcos in January 2012 for three nights with my wife. The staff were really kind hospitalary and they gave us a warm welcolme. The hotel has a good location if you don't want to be near the coast, just next to the central plaza. The restaurant is incredible! all the dishes are exquisite! the menu is really elaborate with all typical mexican food, the breakfast menu its also very elaborate and the prices are the same as any other restaurant in huatilco, so, it is totally worth it to eat there, the restaurat's name is "TERRA COTTA".
In general the rooms are cozy, beds confortable, the bathroom really nice, the shower with the stones floor is really cool. The only thing I have to criticize is first the weird smell that came out from the bathroom and second the NOISE!! way too much noise in the morning, the hotel is just next a school and the sing in the morning, at 8 am, and reaaaally loud!

but in gral really cool hotel, We really enjoyed out stay
