I just stayed the night at Casa Yalmaka'an (I was told it means paradise on earth in Maya) and wished I could have stayed longer. I am not an Acapulco fan per say but had to go on business and on my final night wanted something different. A travel writer friend recommended I try this out and I'm very happy I did. First of all, you drive PAST all the new condo developments and as you go further (maybe 10 minutes more) the building get shorter and shorter and nature takes over again. This hotel is cute, rustic but very comfortable. Rooms are individual palapas with their own balcony, king bed, a/c, ceiling fan and even tv is you need that. The hotel is designed for peace and quiet ..and couples. There is lots of space between sunbeds, plenty of romantic corners and the vibe is just beach chic. The owner is into 'paramotoring' and took me up. This is something guests can do there as well. It was fantastic! We fly above the coast and over a lagoon that I would never even have known was in that area. I could say more but just write me if you'd like to investigate. Overall, I just want to say that this is a refreshing antidote to highrises, crowds, discos and overall congestion.
