“Fabulous Luxurious Resort- Awesome, Safe Sight-seeing!”

I spent a week with two other women in a two bedroom suite. The hotel is absolutely beautiful with elegant and luxurious sitting areas. From the moment of arrival I felt that every effort was being made to make me feel comfortable and relaxed through all my senses from the continual visually enhancing arrangements of plants, ponds, art pieces and furniture to the subtle aroma of sandalwood to the sounds of flowing water, relaxation music piped into the lobbies and foyers. And the Beachfront messages are to die for and very affordable! I enjoyed the fact that the amenities for both the Grand Mayan and the Mayan Palace were available to us. Shuttles between the two, separated by a beautiful golf course, were both quick and convenient. The staff at the both the Mayan Palace and the Grand Mayan were nothing short of perfect. All staff from the greeters at the front door to the smooth check in to the cleaning people , the waiters/waitress at the restaurants all wore smiles and aimed to please. We ate at the poolside restaurant, Samba as well as Bakal and Mundo and were always impressed with the food. Pools were always clean and really enjoyed the lazy river. I went for a couple rounds in it every day! I was impressed with the variety of activities at the hotel(Bingo, ping pong aquafit, water polo, karaoke, line dancing, etc)
We opted to hire a tour guide,Sebastian Hernandez(acapulcofor_all@yahoo.com) who was absolutely awesome. He picked us up at the airport and took us to get groceries on the way to the Resort and then arranged for wonderful tours of The Chapel of Peace, the Diego Rivera murals, the Los Flamingos Hotel(which was owned by Johnny Wiesmueller and John Wayne and was known as an American Gangster Hideaway) and the Markets. Not only did he take us to see the sights but he talked about the history and customs of Acapulco as if he were telling a beautiful love story. I was very impressed with his storytelling abilities. He arranged for dinner at a beach-side restaurant, Esmirna Del Mar, where we experienced the best seafood dinner and the most beautiful sunset ever as well as a most relaxing message on the beach. We also went to the Hotel Mirador where we watched the famous cliff divers. Sebastian was very well respected among the people at the places we went to visit and he made reservations for the best seating and VIP treatment at everyplace we went. Anything we needed to do, go to the bank, get more groceries, even go to a pharmacy- Sebastian was there! Above all else, we felt SAFE IN ACAPULCO and would not hesitate to go back!!!

Room Tip: reserve a poolside view

“Acapulcolicious!”

My friends and I just got back from a luxurious and relaxing week in Acapulco staying at the Mayan Palace. Not only was our suite to die for, our entire positive experience was due to our driver, tour guide, bartender and new friend, Roberto Alcaron --. We hired Roberto initially as our airport and grocery store transportation only. Once we learned how safe Acapulco is and how friendly the people were, we had a craving to travel and tour more than planned. Roberto took us to the more quaint and unknown restaurants like "Esmirna Del Mar" in the south Diamond area, "Linda Vista" on top of the mountains and "La Tortuga" downtown. Each time we showed up, we had a private table ready at the best table with the best view (for 5 women!). He had planned everything, including made our margaritas at some of the restaurants and shops and ordered for us/recommended the best of the best. He even alerted each restaurant that it was one of our friends' birthday so they were fully planned. We opted to use Roberto for our tour day as well, which was well worth it thanks to his air conditioned Suburban. Roberto showed us the Chapel of Peace, Diego Rivera murals, the best markets for shopping and a great silver shop among a few great things. He even took us to the Cliff Divers and had an intimate lunch planned for us overlooking the cliffs. Whenever we needed advise whether it was for tipping procedures, the best bars/dance clubs, shopping, etc... he always pulled through. Roberto is a true gem and definitely a major reason we enjoyed Acapulco so much.

“Great Hotel...Great tour guide”

My girlfriends and I just returned from a week long vacation at Mayan Palace. The accommodations were amazing--cleaning services, staff, food and pools were all excellent. The shuttle service from Mayan Palace to Grand Mayan (where the ocean is) was not inconvenient at all...a short 5 minute golf cart ride or a 15 minute walk.

We researched a personal driver prior to arriving and decided on Roberto after reading several reviews. He picked us up from the airport with the biggest smile and was ready to show us the wonderful Acapulco and how safe it is!

We ended up using him much more than we had anticipated, but he had wonderful recommendations for dinner and site seeing. All of which he was prompt to picking us up, made sure the restaurant staff knew who all of us were and escorted us if we were going out after dinner. We let him know what time we would want to be picked up and he was always there no matter how late.

My favorite restaurant was Linda Vista which has an amazing city view and great staff.

Contact Roberto and he will make your trip to Acapulco memorable and is extremely well priced! robertoalrey@yahoo.com.mx

This was our second visit to the Mayan Palace/ Grand Mayan. Have thoroughly enjoyed both times. From the staff to the amenities everything was great. Both times we have used Baldo Gomez (baldo-work@hotmail.com) to pick us up from the airport and take us where ever we needed to go. It was nice to arrive at the airport to a friendly familiar face. He knows the history of Acapulco and where to go. I highly recommend him to anyone who is going to Acapulco
