We stayed for 3 nights in February 2011 on the weekend where the finals for the Mexican Tennis Open were played. There were no many choices left in this side of Acapulco so we finally settled for the Fairmont Pierre Marques.
I must confess I was deeply disappointed by the hotel and makes me wonder what does it take for a hotel to have the Fairmont brand on it. This is not a luxury hotel at all. The room where we stayed had old furniture and appliances and it was in a poor condition. The elevator did not work for the 3 days we stayed there so we had to climb the stairs several times a day. A friend of us that stayed at the top floor did not have a nice experience in this regard.
We went to the beach once and no service was offered. After half an hour we went into the hotel to contact a waitress so we could get some food and beverages. At the end we decided we would be better served at the pool so we abandoned any idea of lying on the beach.
We had breakfast (buffet) and lunch at the pool several times. The food is barely OK. Nothing extraordinary.
Overall, do not be deceived by the Fairmont brand on this hotel. The Pierre Marques is a 3 star hotel at its best but it charges Fairmont prices.
