“Comfortable if a little frayed round the edges”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

This is a very large business oriented hotel close to the better area of Monterrey. The first room they offered me was very noisy as it overlooked the highway. The second room was much quieter and was an extremely spacious junior suite.

Decor needs a bit of an update but it was very comfortable. The bed was particularly comfortable and the water pressure in the bathroom was good.

Due to the security situation in Monterrey, you are pretty much a captive in the evenings. The central bar is atrium style but has no real atmosphere. I ate in the steak restaurant and it was fine. Service was pretty good.

If I stayed here again on business I'd be pretty happy but it is coming due for some renovation work.

Room Tip: Stay away from the rooms at the ends of the corridors as they are noisier

“Wonderful Property”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 December 2011

Was sent here on business twice in 2011. Was a very nice, formal hotel (almost felt as I needed to 'behave' myself more, as it was quite upscale). Rooms were wonderful, comfortable. Nice pool/hot tub area upstairs. Good restaurants (went to each of them!). The security situation in Monterrey is such that, without some kind of escort, it's not recommended to leave the property, but it was nice enough that one didn't mind.

“You'll enjoy your stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 December 2011

I spent three nights in this hotel two weeks ago and had a very pleasant stay. The staff were friendly and the service was excellent (from the front desk, the valet attendants, in the bar area and the restaurant, all the way to the housekeeping staff). Contrary to the previous post - I stayed on the fifth floor during a weekend, and while there was a wedding being held there, I could not hear anything from my room. I think it depends on where your room is located; our room was a long walk from the main elevator. The room itself was relatively large with a comfortable bed (and no questionable comforter but instead included a duvet with a removable cover), appeared to be well-maintained, and had a beautiful bathroom with a great tub/shower! We also had a fantastic view of the Sierra Madre mountain range. As another poster stated - internet (wifi) is optional for $10/day. I was there on vacation and did not need it. I learned that I can live without it...who knew? I also used their business center to print out my plane tickets - again, friendly staff and no charge for printing. Overall, I definitely recommend staying in this hotel, whether traveling to Monterrey for business or pleasure.

“great but don't stay on a weekend”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

I spent friday night at this hotel and I really loved it.
The only problem is that they have weddings on weekends and the music gets really loud.
I was on the 7th floor. I can only imagine what it was like for people in the first and second.
Music stopped at 2.30. Just have that in mind if your there to relax or have a big meeting the next day.

“Good for business in San Pedro, dated but maintained”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 October 2011

I have stayed at this property on multiple occasions for business. The San Pedro location is convenient to malls and restaurants and 10-15 minutes drive from downtown Monterrey. The lobby, pool and rooms are clean but feel dated (a 70's ambiance). With that said, the hallways and some of the rooms offer inspiring views of the San Pedro skyline and the wonderful surrounding mountains. The rooms are generously sized and have medium size LDC televisions with a decent channel selection. Internet access may be included in some rate packages but if not, runs around $10/day. My bed was comfortable and I experienced no noise issues from adjoining rooms or the hallway. The air conditioning beat back the heat quite well. The gym is quite well equipped and offers 24 hour access - several cardio machines and a couple of racks of free weights. The gym overlooks an attractive indoor pool. While the front desk staff is courteous and helpful, there seems to be some managerial and administrative weakness - I have twice had billing issues at check out. Overall, though, this gets the job done for business purposes.

Room Tip: Try walking over to the Plaza Fiesta de San Augustin and have dinner on the second floor on the outs...
