My wife and I stayed at this hotel on a vacation to Mexico recently. I have traveled often in the past for business, but this happened to be a leisure trip. This hotel has most if not all of the accomodations a business traveler would expect, including wireless internet access (when it was working).
This hotel fails at being accomodating for the leisure traveler. There is not concierge. There were no guides in our room or in the lobby for recreational activities in Monterrey. The clerk at the desk provided little assistance as to recreational activities in Monterrey. The hotel is not located withing walking distance of any attractions either. Fortunately, we had a car. You will need a car or a cab to get to any major attractions in Monterrey once you figure out on your own what those attractions are.
FOOD:
Horrible. The buffet at the hotel restaurant was equally unappetizing as the menu items. Both my wife and I became sick after eating there. The service was extremely slow (45 minutes to prepare a hambuger?!). Our waiter was inattentive. Forty minutes after we had been served our sodas (which had gone flat) we were told that we had 5 more minutes to wait for the food.
CLEANLINESS/COMFORT
Excellent. This hotel was very clean and well kept. Our beds were very comfortable and smelled fresh and clean.
LOCATION:
The hotel is not located in the central district. If you have no intention of exploring the city of Monterrey, you'll be just fine. Otherwise, you will need a car or a cab. I've seen the pictures that the hotel has posted online of the exterior of the hotel. I'm not sure how they could have taken those pictures or from what angle, but the hotel doesn't look that way in its surroundings in person.
AMMENITIES
Free wireless internet! This is a plus whether you are traveling for business or leisure. The problem here was that the internet was down 50% of the time we were there.
Workout room and indoor pool were clean and well equipped.
