The Antarisuite Cintermex is not what I expected. Although its location was excellent, and I felt very safe in the hotel and around, I was not at all impressed. When I walked in, the hotel lobby was nice, as were the two people attending the front desk. I booked my reservation through the hotel website and emailed with a reservations agent, and was quoted a price. When I got to the hotel, I was told it was $40 US Dollars more per night. I showed them a print out of the email, and was told it was not correct. That should have been my first clue. Next, I reserved a room with 2 double beds and a sleeper sofa, well the room was extra extra small, with only two beds, no sleeper sofa. The bathroom door knob was missing, thankfully it was taken care of immediately. Local calls are not included in the rate, they are $50 Mexican pesos minimum, so it was much cheaper for me to use my US cell phone to make a call within Monterrey. The coffee is only complimentary on the first night, as is the water bottle.
The worse thing was, that you must pay and close a tab each night. Saturday night, I returned to the hotel and went to my room only to find that I was not able to get in. So I had to go back to the front desk, pull out my credit card again (as if they did not have it on file since it was a 2 day stay) and sign again before I was allowed to return to my room. As I returned to my room, there seemed to be a problem with the TV. When we finally got to sleep, we kept waking up because the tv kept turning on by itself! and since the remote control is glued to the night stand--yes, it is glued to the nightstand! we had to get up and turn it off.
I have stayed at many 2 star hotels and they offer a way better service than what this hotel offered. I will definately not return to this hotel or any in its chain. You are better off staying at many other cheaper hotels than this one.
