I stayed six nights last week at this pleasant hotel in the heart of Monttery. The on-line reservation process, check-in, and any need I had during my stay was handled efficiently. The hotel has recently been renovated. My non-smoking room with a comfortable king size bed was clean and reasonably sized. Wired high speed internet in the room was easy to use. The breakfast buffet was wonderful. It's a large hotel and there were lots of groups staying there throughout my stay and although that made me feel rather anonymous at times, the staff was friendly and professional at all times. Staff was clearly well-trained: Any request for directions was reciprocated by the staff member walking with me to where I needed to go.

Tip: If you can find a rate that includes the buffet breakfast, it's well worth it. Also, when booking on-line, be sure to try rates other than "Best Available Rate" which is often not the best available rate. :).

We flew down for Valentine's weekend. At first had reservations at Santa Rosa Suites and Inn---very disappointing so, we walked over to Gran Ancira and right away loved the music coming from Bar 1900, looked at a room and switched hotels. Our room though small, was very nice, king size bed, nice bathroom, free internet, views of the mountains, staff was very pleasant--from the maid, waiter, bar staff to the front desk we enjoyed talking to all of them. Of couse, our room was on the first floor and they are in the process of redoing the other floors. The pool was under constrution but, will be very nice when finished. The gym looked great. Fantastic location, fantastic breakfast buffett.

A OK hotel but you will most likely find a better hotel for the same amount of money in the town.

BUT, don't miss the sunday lunch, it is great.

I can't recommend the resturant, you will be much better of going to El Gaucho, Sierra Madre Brewing Co., or even Jac & Ray or Super Salad.

The business floor is the 5th floor and includes breakfast, or something that looks like breakfast :-) (very small selection) you will be MUCH better or going to the resturant in the lobby.

I stayed at the hotel while attending a sports medicine meeting at the University de Nueve Leon. The rooms were very nice and the service was excellent. I dinned at the restaurant several times and the food was very good. The breakfast buffet was terrific. In addition to the usual, the cook would make whatever you wanted.

The hotel was centrally located in the downtown area. Monterrey is an industrial city but I enjoyed my stay very much. The staff was friendly and efficient. I recommend this hotel.
