"Casa Chihuahua" in Chihuahua city is located on Calle 22a & Mendez, opposite the ferrocarril train station (or "Chepe") where you take the Copper Canyon/La Barranca del Cobre train to Creel, El Divisadero & eventually Los Mochis.
It is run by a Frenchman called Phillipe and his Mexican wife, Lori who previously lived in Switzerland. They also have two gorgeous multilingual children. Lori speaks Spanish, English, French & Italian.
There are 2 share dorms, beds are MX$120 per night. There is also a twin room for MX$240 a night. There is also Maytag washer & dryer which you can use for MX$50. Breakfast is an additional MX$20. Beds are very comfortable & all linen and towels are provided. Bathroom standard is excellent - large private showers.
Movies are shown every night, projected onto a large wall in the communal dining-lounge area. There is a wide range of information regarding things to do and see in Chihuahua & Lori & Phillipe are extremely helpful!
The hostel is within walking distance to the centro historico and the HSBC bank where you can change your foreign currency & travellers cheques. There is also a supermarket nearby where you can purchase everything you could possibly need. Close by is also Pancho Villa's house and the Quinta Gamero.
At the time of writing Casa Chihuahua has only been open for 4 months.
I give it ten out of ten!
