“Most Relaxing Vacation EVER!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

This was THE most relaxing vacation we have taken since our honeymoon some twenty-odd years ago. Serenity engulfs the property and our relationship with our hosts grew each day. The food, which I describe as Continental Baja was sublime. Juerg's creations off-menu (depending on the availability of Baja ingredients) as well as on the everyday menu selections were the highlight of each day. Allowing him to pair each evening's meal with a native wine selection enhanced each offering and proved wise. The room was delightful with a fantastic bed/pillow combination and without phone or TV, our peace was undisturbed. A large walk-in shower, nice sink counter with separate make-up area together with the separate commode was only topped by the lovely private terrace overlooking the beautiful gardens and lagoon. Each room is filled with beautiful paintings and art created by Lilly and ours was perfect. While we did not view the other rooms, her work is everywhere and gives us desire to return to see more. Morning tea in the garden before the excellent breakfast started each day for us. Lounging by the pool or on the beach near the waves each led to afternoons on the spectacular sunset terrace where we hoped for the green flash each evening.

Room Tip: We preferred upstairs to extend the view of the ocean

“Stay in the middle of a wildlife sanctuary!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

A bird-watcher’s paradise. Owners Libusche (Lilly) and Juerge (George) Wiesendanger offer the finest European service with a Mexican twist. Situated on the beautiful La Poza lagoon in Todos Santos, you can’t help but relax and forget everything except enjoying where you are. There are 8 colorfully decorated rooms, and one of the best restaurants in town, El Gusto! The meandering paths through the gardens filled with gorgeous exotic plants, lead to a large salt water pool. There are hammocks on the beach and tons of privacy. Many celebs have stayed here. Great place for a wedding.

“An Amazing Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2012

And this is exactly what Juerg and Lilly offer....Posada La Poza is not just a hotel, it is an experience. Treated as if we were house guests, our family felt safe and pampered. Juerg is an amazing chef and he has taken his European culinary skills and created an amazing Baja California menu. The chili relleno cannot be missed and Luis' margaritas are second to none. Lilly's art adds to the intimate surroundings. They have created an oasis which is adjacent to a palm grove allowing for privacy beyond compare. Our rooms were beautifully appointed...and spacious. The only hotel on the beach in Todos, Posada allows for a small corporate retreat, a romantic getaway, or as we experienced....family vacation. There is a turtle sanctuary a short walk away which only added to our amazing family experience.

Room Tip: Our "honeymoon" suite had a balcony with hammock which made for the ultimate afternoon gat...

“A slice of heaven”

A friend suggested we stay at Posada la Poza on our visit to Todo Santos. We drove on the dusty dirt roads wondering where we were heading and WOW... we walked up to the gated entry greeted by a host and were thrilled they had an availability. It was obvious immediately that this was very special. Juerg and Lily greeted us as if we were long awaited family visiting. The garden left me speechless. The pool, the amenities were those of a 5 star resort but without the overwhelming size and regimen. The lagoon, the plants, the beautiful art of Lily's in the garden sculptures, in the rooms her oil paintings and tasteful but simple decor. Loved the music to taste provided with a birdwatching book. Their pets were an added bonus. Such sweet well behaved dogs which made me feel I belonged here.

El Gusto was like being in an elegant home with several dining venues. The lack of written menus was a wonderful touch since Lily would ask us what we felt like and tell us what fresh
seafood they had and how they could prepare it to our appetite and liking. The food was so beautifully prepared and presented I had to take photos before diving in. Really glad I had those pictures to show off at home!

All the while during our stay I was in awe and trying to figure out how I could stay here longer. A very special place run by very charming people with excellent taste. I simply could not have dreamed of this myself and it was so inspiring that these 2 talents designed and built this and manage it themselves.

Room Tip: There are 2 buildings of 4 rooms each. One is a large suite with a rooftop deck. I would choose t...

“A little slice of paradise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2012

Juerg and Lilly were excellant hosts. The beauty of the lagoon, the ocean, birds and plants is hard to describe. It was an oasis away from home. The food was excellant and the service superior. The night sky sparkled with thousands of diamond-like stars. This is the perfect place to visit at the end of the world where your daily cares are a million miles away.

Room Tip: The honeymoon suite was just wonderful!!!
