We needed an inexpensive room for the night because friends of ours had moved from Mexico City to a ocean view home on the hill a short distance from this Hotel. Since they did not have all the rooms furnished we were recommended this hotel and we did not see any really bad reviews in trip advisor it looked like a good bet. When we got there first thing you see is sand bagged outpost just outside the entrance with 3 to 4 machine gun carrying guards who happen to be Mexican Federal Police officers. Okay, maybe not that unusual except when you look into the court yard where cars park and there is not one private vehicle only Federal police trucks parked in every available parking spot. We thought it was maybe a crime scene or something. Oh well we get a room any way…what the hell adventure. That was in the morning so off we go with our friend s to their home for lunch and latter we go to Rosarito for dinner and way too many Cadillac’s. When get back to the hotel it is still full police because that is where they are staying in between their shifts. My wife and I being in a party mood still and make friends with a couple of young police officers and they envite us into their room for a couple of (3 in my case)shots of tequila and to show us thier machine guns. I know guns and achahol don't mix. They are from Mexico City and have to pss the time some way. Revely to our surprise is at 7:00 AM because an officer is yelling for about 40 to 50 of his troops to assemble in the court yard for the daily roll call and assignments that goes on until 8. No more sleep for us. Oh one minor point if you want a hot shower make sure you get it before 6. Ohter wise this is a very nice hotel ...I guess you can call it kinda safe but as a family experience a little werd.
