Reasons to stay at this hotel:1. Helpful, welcoming, and effective staff;2. Extensive services - complimentary continental breakfast, complimentary bar 5-7pm - good time to talk golf and meet people, classes on karate, jazz, yoga, for kids and adults.., helpful tennis pro available on weekend, two pools both well heated, jacuzzi, spa services - massage, nails..., workout room with free and machine weights, walking and step machines;3. Excellent restaurant where the chef, Chef San Roman and staff (Joshua, Marcus, Edward and all the rest) are so wonderful and the food is as good (try the duck appetizer and the salmon entree accompanied by a good local wine from the Guadelupe area and followed by the chocolate mouse cake - yum);4. Challenging but fun golf course with a practice range that makes you feel like you are actually playing golf;5. Lunch from the golf-range grilll is also good - (recommend the nachos - bigger and better than any nachos that I've had in North America - hint: the nachos include steak) and also, once again pleasant staff;6. Comfortable well-appointed bar to hang out in after dinner;7. Beautiful views of the ocean and the golf course;8. Easy 20-30 minute drive to Rosarito, Tijuana, or Puerto Neuvo. 30 minute drive to SanDiego (not including the border crossing time, which can vary between 10 and 80 minutes.)9. Rooms are large and include kitchen.Bring your swimsuit, tennis racket, and golf clubs for a great time. Also, for those who don't know about the weather of the west coast (like me) I would recommend to bring a jacket for when some mornings and evenings can be cooler.Why not an excellent rating? The bed could be more comfortable (but it was fine) and the fireplace would look better if the fake fire was replaced with a plant or a nice looking fire grate. - really a minor concern.

AWESOME HOTEL! The staff are so Friendly!! I was looking for a hotel in Tijuana and we were going to stay at the Grand Hotel Tijuana but that hotel was horrible compared to Real del Mar. It's located on top of a hill with an icredible view although it is not facing the ocean. The rooms are so big they have a small kithchen, living room, and bedroom both rooms have T.V.'s. The rooms are decorated Mexican style and are very cozy. This hotel is about 10 min from all the nightclubs and bars which I liked because it wasn't all crowded with drunk people. I don't think many people know of this hotel because its kind of hidden. It doesn't even seem like were in Tijuana because it is so beautiful. Oh, and I loved the breakfast it was delicious. Oh by the way don't forget to check out Papas and Beer, (so much FUN).

My wife and I stayed here with our son on the way to Ensenada. It's really gorgeous. The only downfall is that you almost don't feel like you're in Mexico! The property is a huge resort, but it has a quaint and homey feel (at least when we were there it wasn't crowded). The restaurant there is very nice with great food, low lighting, uniformed waiters. All around the service is great - people to help you to your room with your bags, etc. The rooms are very spacious and do have a very hospitable feel. They have tiled floors, furniture, kitchen. If we were to go back I would want to take advantage of their spa services and golf. There's nothing not to like about this place.

My husband and I stayed at this Hotel for the first time this past weekend. It is a BEAUTIFUL hotel. It is a golf resort with an awesome golf course. The rooms are big, and include a full kitchen and a large bath tub. The staff are very friendly. the best perk is the complimentary breakfast and beer/wine during happy hour. Overall, we had a GREAT experience there. It is in TJ but only 15 mins from Rosarito. The only downfall is that is not on the ocean side of the road but it does have an ocean view.
