Doug from montana 01-20-2006 I had a very good stay at the chapala motel it was down town in the middle with in crawling distance and a good rate and very nice people.

i have stayed at this hotel for several times throughout the years. Every thing is clean and the clerks working there are very nice and helpful. They don't have a bar or restaurant available, but they are close to everything, and they will have coffee ready for the guests at the office. The only bad thing is that they don't have enough parking space. Either you have to be there early(before 5 or 6 pm) or you end up parking outside on the main st. I recommend this hotel.

Just spent 3 days in S.F. for business at El Dorado Ranch. We stayed at the Chapala Hotel on Mar de Cortez,one street off the main beach drive. Upon arriving we noticed the buildings had a recent paint job and the grounds were clean and swept. The people were very friendly and the service was prompt. Language can be a problem as only Pepe speaks some english. No resturant or bar but close to many others at the beach front. The rooms were clean and no bad smells or crawley things. Sometimes noise was excessive but it was the weekend 4/07/05. Price at that time was $57.00 a night and a good value compared to other so called better hotels. I know i've stayed in them.
