This is a good hotel for the price. Steve (the on-site owner) is very friendly and offered fresh clams to us and several guests the first night. We appreciated the free water jugs (unlike the mission hotel that only gives you free water the first night - jeeze).
The showers have a small hot water tank. I guess my main issue was that it's a bit out of the way and not a very pleasant walk into town. (Got tired of the long dirt driveway with scrappy little dogs.)
Also, Barrett (the brother/proprietor who handles bookings) told us there was no rooster nearby when we were told by another hotel there was - and there was, on the adjacent property. It only woke me up once, but still - I asked about it specifically. The Malecon is still pretty close, but you can close the windows to the cabanas and generally drown out the cars blasting banda music.
