My husband and I had an amazing time during our week long vacation in La Paz. The Hacienda del Sol was beautiful, quiet, and clean. Eberhard and Renate were gracious hosts and spent the time giving us great information about where to go and what to do in and around La Paz. We are already planning our next trip back to the Hacienda del Sol.

We had a wonderful week in La Paz, which we were visiting for the first time. While browsing the internet we were lucky to find the Hacienda del Sol. This place is very clean and welcoming. Eberhard and Renate are very sweet and helpful, we will visit them again for sure!!

We took our RV down the Baja this past winter for the first time ever. From the moment I found this place on the web, I knew it was where I wanted to stay. We spent 5 1/2 months in the RV park at Hacienda del Sol and loved every minute of it. Eberhard and Renate are great hosts and fast became our great friends. They both helped us find our away around La Paz and the surrounding area by providing maps, and spending time with us to make sure we knew exactly where to go for things we needed. Eberhard took us to a dental appointment to help us communicate better and once even came to our rescue when we got our pickup stuck in the sand. Renate took me shopping on several occasions so I could learn all about the great places La Paz has to offer. It is hard to know how to list every good thing about these two people and about our stay at Hacienda del Sol, but I can say this. We plan to return again in November and make Hacienda del Sol our permanent winter home.
This is a great location, just a short drive from the Malecon in La Paz, but in a nice quiet neighborhood of El Comitan. Once, we kayaked with a school of dolphins by launching our kayaks from the beach only 100 yards away. Many days we rode our bicycles into the local town of El Centenario to produce stands for fresh fruits and vegetables, a tortilla factory for hot just-made tortillas, and other neighborhood stores.

We had our winter again mostly at the Hacienda del Sol.
Being retired, we have all the time in the world. Spending winter in the sun of La Paz, exploring Baja and summer at home in Canada and Europe.
It was the 4th time that we visited Renate and Eberhard and we enjoyed again the best vacation ever.
We wanted to be a little closer to downtown, but after a couple days at a nice place close to the Malecon, we had to leave.
Sure, it is practical to be right in the center, but you have to use a car anyway and the noise of the city was to much for us. Since we have to drive the same distance from downtown or the Hacienda for groceries, we ruefully returned to the Hacienda del Sol.
The beautiful landscape, the quietness, the spacious houses, the fantastic sleeping, the beach, the surrounding nature, all this makes a great home.
The location is perfect and driving only 11 miles to town is no problem. We drive more for groceries in Vancouver.
Right now we are traveling Europe, but have not found any place that could compare with Renate's and Eberhard's place. They are the best hosts one can only wish for.
We will be back in November.
