“Needs update - Avoid until then”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 September 2011

We had a chance to spend the night at the hotel after a wedding reception. I had been there in the mid seventies, when the hotel and restaurant was just opening. it was then a first rate operation.
It now shows its age, with the fixtures, carpeting well worn and the furniture quite dated. The service was mediocre, and amenities non existent. A dispensing machine for general personal items although plugged into the wall, had no electricity and when the staff was questioned about the inability to purchase what was needed, did try to reach someone in the general offices, who retorted that "sorry it does not work".
Additionally, there is no elevator.
Perhaps if one is in for the golf, the remainder may not matter, however, were it not for the distance to Ensenada, one would be better served at a local hotel.
For what it offers, it is extremely expensive. Other than for the size of the rooms, it has no better amenities then a Motel 6.
Avoid if possible!

“Good golf expericence, I don`t know why the people say is bad?”

I stayed with my husband. We were upset when we do the check in cause the hotel is out of the city closer to the north than to ensenada.
The golf was so nice. His swing in hole 7 was amaizing! He took few lessons with the pro pshaw.
In the restaurant the mexican nachos and fajitas and margaritas was ... mmm.
I had a surprise experience but there was my fault when I left the balcony opened when we went out. A squirrel was in my room!!! There was so scary. The hotel is in the middle of the camp, I`ll never forget it!!

Room Tip: second floor

“HORRIBLE!!!!!! The WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 June 2011

The description of the rooms sounded like what we needed with a fold out sofa. We booked through Hotels.com and arrived with our confirmation. When we showed up, the hotel charged an additional $113.00 due to needing an extra roll away bed because none of the rooms had a sofa bed as described. When we checked out, another $88.96 was charged for them to bring the extra roll away bed to the room and the request for 2 additional towels. The rooms were disgustingly filthy, blood stains on the cheats, and no hot water. The restaurant food was equally disappointing. I ordered the 1/2 steak 1/2 lobster for the $23.00 menu price, but was told the price for me was $35.00...? The paper thin steak was microwaved and still cold in the center. Absolutely TERRIBLE!!!! Do not waste your money here!!!!! The pictures look nice, but not even close to reality.

“Non-golf stay”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 August 2010

We were visiting family (that were staying at an on-property vacation rental homes.) Their rental home was fantastic, our hotel was not. Overpriced at $150/night. The room had two rock hard double beds, TV with about 12 channels, no elevator (only two stories so not that big of a deal). The pool was clean, but cold. The gym was a converted suite with a number of broken pieces of equipment. Golf course looked nice, but was pretty empty. I realize it's a golf destination, so if you are going for that and don't mind paying the rates ($83 weekend for quests, $103 for non quests) you probably don't care about the quality of the room. If you are going as a non-golfer, you are proably better off staying either up in Rosarito or down in Ensenada (the Marina hotel is much nicer).

“Bajamar is Great”

My wife and i just got back from Bajamar. We have not been there fo a couple of years. It has changed alot for the good. The golf course is in the best I've ever seen it. They just installed a desalination plant and they have lots of water and their lakes are full. The restaurant food was wonderfull and Friday night they had aTaco Bar with great Mexican food and live music, all for $9.00. I asked the manager there about the credit card problem they had there. He said they could not find any evidence of fraudulent charges through their files but had no choice but to replaced the whole staff. We found everyone to be helpful and polite.Bajamar with 4 holes on the ocean and spatacular views every where, this is a must play course. Check it out , we recommand it.
