My husband and I enjoyed a birthday break at Branston recently. The rooms are warm and welcoming, bags of character, we had a large room on the first floor (116) with dual aspect, huge 4-poster beds, and possibly the largest bathroom I have ever seen in a UK hotel.
The food is wonderful, though we could have done with some variety in the menu which remained the same throughout our 3-day stay. Breakfast was exceptionally good, fresh and interesting. Service was high standard throughout, nothing too much trouble. My particular thanks to the junior manager who sorted out a problem we had the previous night, with patience and follow-up to ensure all was well (and indeed it was).
Loved the roaring fires in the reception rooms and the outlook over extensive grounds. My one regret was that I omitted to pack swimming things, not bothering to check the amenities which includes a good-sized swimming pool, sauna etc.
Location-wise, it's very close to Lincoln and offers a great opportunity to visit and enjoy this unique town. Lovely in the sun, we were lucky with the weather, but if it hadn't been nice we would have been perfectly happy to chill at Branston Hall Hotel.
Thanks again for a great break
