“What a great hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

My husband and I enjoyed a birthday break at Branston recently. The rooms are warm and welcoming, bags of character, we had a large room on the first floor (116) with dual aspect, huge 4-poster beds, and possibly the largest bathroom I have ever seen in a UK hotel.

The food is wonderful, though we could have done with some variety in the menu which remained the same throughout our 3-day stay. Breakfast was exceptionally good, fresh and interesting. Service was high standard throughout, nothing too much trouble. My particular thanks to the junior manager who sorted out a problem we had the previous night, with patience and follow-up to ensure all was well (and indeed it was).

Loved the roaring fires in the reception rooms and the outlook over extensive grounds. My one regret was that I omitted to pack swimming things, not bothering to check the amenities which includes a good-sized swimming pool, sauna etc.

Location-wise, it's very close to Lincoln and offers a great opportunity to visit and enjoy this unique town. Lovely in the sun, we were lucky with the weather, but if it hadn't been nice we would have been perfectly happy to chill at Branston Hall Hotel.

Thanks again for a great break

“Much improved”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

We spent a couple of nights (29 and 30 Jan.) there recently (vastly improved from our last visit some years ago). For 12 years I worked in various countries in the Middle East, Asia and the Balkans for the UN. Staying and eating at some very good Hotels and Restaurants where the service was first class, we were often disappointed on visits back to the UK on the poor quality of services in similar British establishments. However, our recent stay at Branston Hall was without doubt on a par (if not exceeding) with their international counterparts. We actually felt the staff and services were highly professional and were there for us, not just an afterthought as is usually the case in the UK. Well done ! The food was exquisite also. The only disappointment being the Spa area not being fully functional, but i am sure it will be rectified shortly.

Par excellence and highly recommended

“Lovely Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

Lovely hotel, very welcoming with roaring log fire in the bar area, cosy seating and plenty of charm. We upgraded to a superior room (110) and it was lovely, good size decorated fine, small dressing room off the bedroom/ bathroom added to the size. Only fault i could see was the condensation on the window and bit of mould around the wall but that was absolutely nothing, close the curtains and its gone!
The food in the restaurant was beautiful, came away after eating far too much to lounge in the bar area and chat to fellow guests.
We used the pool, jacuzzi and sauna which was lovely.
Spent 2 nights here with the groupon deal and was definitely not disappointed - would certainly stay again if travelling to that area.

“Wedding”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

Even though I live in the same village as this hotel, I have over the years stayed here several times for various reasons, these include my sisters wedding, my daughters 21st and other land mark birthdays and my own wedding reception after the renewal of our vows at the local church. Given the expanse of the grounds there is no indication of the nearby houses. Excellent as always, the huge log fire in the lounge is always a welcoming sight, the staff are helpful and pleasant, and the food is worth travelling any distance for, the rooms are clean and comfortable, although due to the age of the building one or two of the windows can be tricky to open, however this is a minor detail in the overall assessment of the hotel. I have no doubt I'll be staying there again in the future.

“Wonderful location and great staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

Having stayed at the Hotel for a two night break recently , what a wonderful experience. the food and staff were first class and although the room was a little on the small size, it was quaint and had all the facitilites you would expect of a hotel of this standard.

The breakfast was wonderful especially the porridge with honey.....
