“Ask for an exec room”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012 via mobile

The hotel is located in a lovely rural area only 5 minutes from Slough. The hotel has had some refurbishment but not throughout. Ask if you can have one of the refurbished rooms on the exec side of the hotel. Other rooms are clean but would benefit from a refresh. Food is really good and there are vegetarian options. This is good value for money for the location and is good for overnight business stays.

“leisure weekend”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

An excellent location, but we found it strange that in an executive room (for 3, though we were only 2) there was little or no storage space. No cupboard or drawer space, apart from small drawers in bedside lockers and one other small drawer (and I mean small). as a consequence we spent the weekend living out of cases - not what I want for choice. What you would do if you were a family of 3 I find difficult to imagine.
On the bright side, in addition to the location, the staff were helpful, particularly in the restaurant. The food was very good and the serving staff were excellent; attentive, knowledgeable and unobtrusive.
My only other complaints are niggles - there were no biscuits in the tea/coffee pack, I asked for them on Friday afternoon and did not receive them, asked again on Saturday because they were not supplied on a fill up at cleaning time, I received them about an hour later. Additionally the tea bags were all Earl Grey which are not to my taste. I again had to ask for 'ordinary' tea which was immediately available from reception.

“Nice countryside hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

Overall it was a good stay. It is set in a beautiful location and I had a large nice room (though my desk chair had a torn seat and had seen better days. The positives include: free wi fi, warm reception from staff, beautiful lounge area , large, quiet bedroom and nice toiletries. Staff were very helpful in carrying my heavy bags to my room and booking me a taxi.
Room service meal wasn't great - overcooked chips, it took a long while to come and I didn't finish the meal it didn't taste that great and I felt that at £110 my room charge ought to have included breakfast and the buffet breakfast wasn't anything special and cost nearly £14.00 ( very poor value) - cooked breakfast was £17.00! If my company booked
me there again I'd be happy to stay - but if I was paying myself I personally I think the prices are too steep for what you get particuarly because of the breakfast charge on top of an already high room price. So lovely room, nice staff, but not good value for money and the food could be better.

“A very pleasant hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

I stayed overnight on a business trip and found the hotel a welcome contrast from Slough. The hotel is less than a 10 minute drive from the A4 but could be a million miles away. It has a lovely country house hotel feel.

On the negative side the walls were a bit thin and I was woken up by 6am alarm calls on either side. The leisure changing rooms are a bit shabby and the Jacuzzi had too much Chlorine.

The positives definitely outweigh these points, the rooms are nice, the staff were friendly, the breakfast was superb and it's not Slough.

I'd definitely stay again.

“4 Star Hotel with 5 Star Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

Beautiful Hotel in a great location. The service from the staff is 1st class, from entering the bar Mary made you feel at home and nothing was too much trouble. Bartozs in the restaurant made what was an excellent meal a dining experience, with his attentive service and knowledge of the wines on offer. I would certainly recommend the hotel and make sure you dine in to experince the 5 star service which is Burnham Beeches

Room Tip: Executive rooms in the new wing are great for office space if you are working away from home with hi...
