Words cannot begin to describe how much we enjoyed our stay at Milness Croft this summer. We (myself, husband and 2.5 year old) had an idyllic week cooking, walking, sightseeing and generally relaxing in and around Glen Urqhuart.
To call this place family friendly is an understatement, but it would also be a great hideaway for couples and outdoorsy sorts of all types! But, for us, it was all about family fun and Neil and Justine (who I never met or saw, but who I'm sure does a lot of the behind the scenes work to make this place so special) made us feel completely relaxed from the second we arrived. Neil was always cheery and accommodating even when surrounded by midges!
Although we needed very little of it, the choice of baby & toddler equipment was excellent and everything we did use was immaculate! The ride-on toys for the decking & huge bag of farm toys, etc. definitely enthralled out little one. The only problem was explaining that he had to leave them behind at the end of the week.
We travelled to a lot of the historic sites such as Culloden, Eilean Donan & Urqhuart Castle and were amazed how much we could see within an hour's drve of the cottages. However, we also spent some lovely times on the croft in our wellies wading in the burn, counting the giant mushrooms, chasing butterflies and sitting in wait for pics of the elusive pine martens (which we had the company of twice in the week - magical!).
So, I can highly recommend Milness Croft to anyone. It can seem a little pricey without discounts, but, once you're there, you'll get real value for money.
