With all my travels, I'm a little late with this review of course but nevertheless...you WILL want to go here!!! I went for a second time to stay with the wonderful people at Secret Transylvania and knowing I have an adventurous side, they planned a wonderful 'surprise' day for us. I won't give the entire surprise away, but the end of the day, when you're thinking it can't possibly get better, they took us here! The Ice Hotel was a very unexpected delight for us, as it was April and we hadn't had snow where we lived for some time. The trip up in the old cable car was definitely a challenge for me (not so fond of heights) but the scenery from above was absolutely breathtaking so I quickly got over my fears. There was a snowstorm on the top of the mountain when we arrived so it was definitely cold and windy but Canadian girls are notoriously tough so we braved our way thru the snow to the restaurant where we had a meatball soup that warmed us from the inside out and allowed us to go further to discover the church and then onto the hotel. I won't give an opinion of the overnite stay in the hotel since that would be a very personal thing...to sleep in a bed made of snow (on a beautiful fur!) Can you handle it?! A massive thanks to Di at Secret Transylvania for finding this little gem for us to visit!
