My husband and I spent four nights at Makena Surf at the tail end of a two week holiday celebrating our 25th anniversary. While the kitchen was recently upgraded and was fabulous in our unit (F304), the living room furniture was pretty old and I almost felt like putting a sheet over it before I could sit on it - just felt icky. I didn't like the fact that there was no actual bathtub, but the two shower units were very nice, but if you like a tub - no luck! The view was to die for and felt a little like being on a cruise when you looked out over the patio. The bedspreads need updating too - felt icky again. One big draw back for us was also that there was no elevator, so up three flights of stairs with everything - pain! Maybe we were too spoiled at the Westin where we stayed for the previous nights. It was on the beach and if you are looking for that, you will find it. This unit did NOT have a BBQ and it was inconvenient having to use the one by the pool. I wouldn't stay in this unit again.

F204 has to be the best condo at Makena Surf. It is a little piece of heaven. A 2 bedroom, 2 bath corner unit, it gives you views from 2 sides and every room except the second bedroom. There is a lanai off the master bedroom and the main one off the open kitchen, dining, living room. Spectacular scenery!! Beautiful grounds. There are even herb gardens where you can snip your own herbs to use for the dinner you can prepare in the well-stocked kitchen. My only complaints are that this unit does not have a grill on the lanai, there were no paper towels or salt and the garbage can set-up is annoying. Small issues, except for the lack of grill. You truly don't want to eat out because there is no better view anywhere. Right on great beach for boogie boarding and snorkeling. In fact, we watched the snorkel tours every morning from our balcony. Not cheap, but worth every penny!

We stayed in B207 and thought it was fabulous! The condo was very clean and appeared very updated. I didn't see anywhere that was any closer to the water and the views were incredible. The pool outside our condo was also very nice and never crowded. (With family staying at the Fairmont [half mile down the road], we had the best of both worlds.)

We spent almost 2 weeks at Unit B-207 and while the view and location were excellent, the unit itself was quite dated and the carpeting was worn and disgustingly dirty. When we complained and actually sent pictures of the carpeting, the initial response was "we just had the carpet cleaned". In my opinion, the carpeting needs to be replaced and the entire uni could use some refreshing. Location good, (somewhat of a long walk to hotels/shopping) view from lanai is fantastic and having a bar-b-que was quite nice.
