After reading some good reviews, Ibis seemed like a good and convenient place to stay. Though it maybe sufficient for someone staying for just 1 night, for someone staying for a much longer period, it becomes one of the most terrible places to stay. Defects take so long to repair and you really have to nag them to get them to do it. For example windows would not close properly letting in wind and the cold air, this took 3 reports to reception and 10 days to repair. The worst part of the hotel is cleanliness. Almost 2 weeks i'd been here when I had to report to reception that the bedding really needed changing, 2 days later it still hadn't been changed. Seemed the only way to get it done was to tell housekeeping directly, this had to be done each week, otherwise they just left it. Though this was nothing to was i was so shocked to actually see with my own eyes. Just as i returned to my room after breakfast, housekeeping were in making up my room, a little early i though, however they didn't know I’d come back in at that moment and continued washing the cups in the bathroom, drying them out with the used towels from the bathroom floor. Once they noticed i was there, not even an eye lid was battered, showing this was normal practice. It really was like a scene from hotel Babylon, if you've ever seen the programme. The good things about the hotel is how good some of the reception staff are, though limited to just how much they can do they do try. The food in the restaurant it pretty good, perhaps a little over priced and not a great choice on the menu but still it's ok. Overall the hotel is really let down by housekeeping and the general state of repair, perhaps one day I’ll be returning and they will be much better.
