“This is THE place to stay !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 October 2010

We were so warmly welcomed at Inwood, and were made to feel so at home. Our room was perfect, facilities outstanding, breakfast was magnificent. Our stay was so much better in every way than in an hotel, with the benefit of lovely hosts. They have set the bar very high. Location was just right for our purposes, and the garden and surrounding woodland was lovely, even in October. It was so easy to find, having good road links, but was so peaceful and quiet. We will be back.

“Home from home :-)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 September 2010

We stayed here for a wedding being held nearby. Lovely house within fantastic gardens, very peaceful and quiet. The room was spotless, the bathroom was modern with a great shower, and the hosts were brilliant - very welcoming and helpful.

Breakfast was possibly the best one I've had away from home - lots of fresh fruit, tea and juice, and some fantastic smoked salmon and scrambled egss, followed by croissants. Amazing!

Great value, great place, great stay - thanks :-)

“An absolute gem of a B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2010

This was our fourth stay at Inwood Garden and we were welcomed, as always, like long lost friends. The owners (LIndsay and Irvine) have created an absolute gem of a B&B with two large rooms with excellant facilities and lots of little extras, including a glass of wine in the evening. Irvine will also escort you around the local area and is a font of knowledge on the very interesting local history.
Everything is spotlessly clean and bedlinen and towels of high quality. The breakfast is to die for and certainly sets you up for the day.
However, what really makes Inwood unique is the couple who run it. Lindsay and Irvine make you feel so special and go out of their way to make your stay just as special. They are always at hand with advice about restaurants etc and will happily ring to make enquiries or book tables.
We would recommend Inwood to anyone - it is just as ideal for single travellers as couples and being a bungalow has easy access. Travel into Edinburgh is quick and easy, by car or rail, and Inwood is ideally placed as a centre for touring the area.
What ever you do don't forget to take a turn around the gardens - they are wonderful.

“A fabulous treasure in a stunning setting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 August 2010

Lindsay and Irvine provided a level of hospitality rarely seen these days. The room and en suite bath were amazingly comfortable, stylishly decorated and very very clean. Breakfasts were truly filling and tasty, with such local delicacies as salmon and black pudding on offer in addition to more traditional fare ( be adventurous, try the black pudding, you won't be let down!)
Not only convenient to Edinburgh, but also a good base for those who like a bit of a ramble. Carberry Tower, wooded walks, the site of the 16th century Battle of Pinkie...it's all here for the seeing.
We look forward to going again, if only to experience the warm hospitality of the Morrisons!

“Scottish hospitality at its best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 August 2010

We travelled to the area for a wedding and we were recommended to stay at Inwood House by the Bride and Groom. A charming B&B with amazing gardens and equally charming hosts. Irwin and Lindsay made our 2 night stay just wonderful. They gave us detailed directions for a morning walk, taking in the scenary of the very historic area and even gave us a lift - free of charge - to the wedding venue. A perfect B&B to visit the surrounding areas, we highly recommend staying for more than one night. The Scottish breakfast was fresh and perfectly cooked and the bedroom was large and comfortable.
