“Great time”

We stayed at the castle for 2 nights. Upon arrival we were greeted and shown to our room. We were surprised and very pleased as we had been upgraded to the four poster bedroom. The room was very spacious and the ensuite had a walk in shower and also a seperate roll top bath, again very spacious. As it was Scotland in January it was very cold outside but thankfully very warm in the bedroom and public areas of the hotel.
Included in the room rate was breakfast. We both really enjoyed the breakfast which was very traditionally Scottish which included Haggis, Black Pudding and square sausage which was just what we both needed before a full days sighseeing.
The castle is a good base to stay due to it's location for visiting Stirling, Edinburgh and St Andrews.
The castle is visually stunning and very good value for money when you compare what you get here compared to another bed and breakfasts or other small hotels.
We spoke with one of the owners over breakfast who was very frindly and helpful and made us feel very welcome.
If we return to this area again we would have no hesitation in coming back to this charming place to stay.

“Even better than expected.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 January 2012

Myself and my partner booked Broomhall after deciding we fancied a weekend away somewhere with a bit more character than the usual modern city centre hotel and it certainly delivered. (We were even lucky enough to see two small deer wandering around outside our window)

We decided to pay that little bit extra and book the four poster suite, we were given room 3 which we were later informed was the bridal suite. A very nice room, huge comfortable bed and a spacious bathroom with a lovely bath. We both had a great nights sleep although if I was to say one negative thing it would be that the radiators were constantly making noise throughout the night.

We decided to have our evening meal in the hotel restaurant and were delighted to be given a free bottle of moet as we were in the bridal suite, a really nice touch we both thought. The food and the restaurant itself were both lovely and clearly cooked with top quality ingredients. The three course menu was worth every penny. The breakfast in the morning was also great and a perfect way to start the day (not too greasy and perfectly cooked)

I'd definitely recommend Broomhall Castle to anyone and look forward to returning in the future.

“Amazing!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 December 2011

My husband and I loved Broomhall. We were sort of in a miserable mood - we had flown in that morning to Edinburgh after an overnight flight from the US and my husband's bag was missing. He didn't have any clothes to change into or jackets for 2 days (thankfully the bag finally showed up). We stayed at Broomhall that first night and Ian was quick to help anyway he could. Since it was a Sunday, everything was closed unfortunately, but he even offered to go shopping for us at whatever store was open. He didn't take him up on the offer, but it was quite generous and thoughtful. The bedroom was very spacious and clean and the bathroom, I was in love with. The food for dinner and breakfast was exceptional. We were told the B&B had wireless internet, but we never could get a signal, even in the bar where it was supposed to be the strongest since the walls are so thick. We also weren't used to not having washcloths (maybe that is a US thing - guess we are spoiled). All in all, we would definitely recommend to others.

Wash clothes is something we have never had but always worth looking into the little things.. hope the bags showed up eventually.. and the wireless is the thorn in our side.. sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't... but wouldn't change the stone walls for anything.. so sorry if lack of internet caused any problems for you during your stay.. Hope you had a safe trip back stateside and hopefully see you again one day

“Wonderful discovery”

We stayed at Broomhall Castle for a special celebration and although we only stayed the one night, we couldn't have been treated better. Rod was friendly, helpful and entertaining and made us feel comfortable and relaxed. Our room (No 4) was beautiful, with the most comfortable king sized bed, lovely views out of the big window, a seating area and lovely bathroom with a roll top bath AND a shower cubicle. We pre-booked dinner and had a free bottle of very nice wine with our meal, which was beautifully presented and tasted wonderful. The full Scottish breakfast in the morning was equally good and we would recommend this place without hesitation and hope to return again.

Room Tip: No 4 is a lovely big room with great views from the window, quiet and a very comfortable bed.
