We were upgraded to this hotel...and indeed upon arrival we were taken by the well designed spacious room and beautiful bathroom. The room even had a small balcony. We were given a code to enter the hotel...and that was a good thing because the next two days we never saw another soul in the hotel. The owner said if we were going to stay for dinner...we should make a reservation right away. so we did. Dinner was more or less a lunch...a bit of a deception...no choice,... the same salad, ragout with rice and an entire bottle of the local wine for everybody...though the taste was good...it was way too expensive for what it was and the portions were barely adequate.
We were unpleasantly grounded being too early for breakfast the next day, though we were at the time appointed. The lady made it up by preparing eggs and bacon. Returning in the the afternoon we found the room uncleaned and the beds were not made. It was clear that nobody had been in there. We tried to make a dinner reservation...but no luck there either..... there simply was nobody. A few hours later we finally caught the owner on her way up to her own apartment. When we said we would like to reserve for dinner she answered that tonight there was no dinner and she gave us the address of Restaurant Rhodas. Conclusion...a room can be beautiful but if the service is this lousy and unfriendly. a hotel is not a hotel anymore.
