“A lovely wedding destination”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

I had the pleasure of serving as officiant for the wedding of 2 friends in early December. The wedding party of about 70 people stayed at Grand Isle and everyone loved it. The apartment style set-up was great for people with kids - or people like me who hate group breakfasts! The furnishings seemed new & the grounds were pretty & well kept. The beach is clean & the waters crystal clear. The staff was probably the friendliest one I've encountered in my many trips to the Bahamas. It's next to Sandals, which is closed to non-guests - NO LOSS. Golf carts come with the rooms, a big plus. Our guests ranged from babies to teens to seniors & everyone felt at home. Food is good, not great, but the alfresco dining offers a beautiful view of the ocean. Will definitely go back.

Room Tip: Ocean view is prettiest but you'll pay a steep premium. Avoid the units right by the pool if you...

We are winter residents in Exuma and have a home close to Grand Isle Resort.
We enjoy the restaurant -----wonderful food, great wait staff and a view that is breathtaking.
I enjoy yoga classes weekly----again just a fabulous place to relax and enjoy the beauty that surrounds you. Looking forward to using the spa next week. Have heard great reviews form other residents who have used the spa service
I feel confident in recommending Grand Isle as a vacation destination.

Room Tip: as stated above I am a winter resident, and own property close to Grand Isle

“Paradise”

We spent the past 10 days in this Bahamian paradise. We had been here for the past few winters and the further improvements this year are truly visable. The pool area as well as the beach are as lovely as ever but with better than ever attention from the staff. The Pallappa restaurant, with a new chef, has become the best on the island. The villas themselves are second to none in the entire Bahamas. This is THE destination for laid back luxury.

Room Tip: waterfront is best.

“Gorgeous”

My family spent 3 nights at the Grand Isle recently and we are already planning our next trip back. The resort is aptly named. The white sand beach is like walking on powder. I had to laugh when looking at the spectacular beauty of the water, which is shades of turquoise blue and crystal clear. Laughter turned to bliss when my sons and I snorkeled off of the beach. There are reefs feet from the shore with plenty to see. The villas might be the nicest accomadations we have ever stayed on vacation, and we are used to the best. It was our first visit to Exuma ... it will not be our last.

“First class resort on a beautiful beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 January 2012

Spent a weekend here last month for a wedding and thoroughly enjoyed it. Everyone was so nice and accommodating. When you check in, they immediately give you a golf cart to ride around the property. The villas are beautifully decorated in a tropical Caribbean theme and include anything you could possibly need for a day or a month stay. The beach is a very short walk away on the end of Emerald Bay which feels very clean & private. There's a bar/restaurant & spa at the main entrance & a small infinity pool. Only drawback was that it's relatively far from town so you need a car if you want to explore the rest of the island. But if you're looking for an intimate upscale resort that's not touristy or commercialized, this place is perfect!
