We stayed here for 3 nights while traveling to Georgetown on business and it was a great time. It's got that small bed and breakfast feel but with all you need while staying in the islands within an easy walk mostly. Bank with an ATM and a market within a 5 minute walk, for example.
The staff was great-courteous, kind, helpful. The food was good, and from what I've seen of prepared meals in the islands, about average price if not a little less, especially if you compare to some of the larger resort restaurants. This is not Sandles, or The Atlantis, etc. These folks are truly on "island time" and it works well for them. Expect things (your meal, your check for dinner, etc) to take a few more minutes than usual. Thursday night was a nice buffet with your choice of chicken dishes, burgers, ribs, etc with sides for a good price, and it's then followed by live music from a local band with even a staff member singing a song or 2 at the end of the night.
They've set up their own private beach over on Stocking Island, water taxi service is the way over at the moment ($12 round trip per person) and it picks up less than 100 yards from the inn. Big D's Chonch Shack has set up a restaurant and bar, and he's working on getting a boat set up for direct service to the clubs' dock. There's chairs and shelters for use on the beach.
Yes, the place is for sale. I spoke with Barry, the co-owner (with his brother) and he said they have made changes in management, and cleaned house of a lot of the staff in attempt to straighten things up. They are selling because neither brother can make the move to the island to oversee operations full time like such an operation needs. They really are trying to make it work, and make it a nice place. If I could make one recommendation to them, it would be a microwave to go with the fridge in the rooms.
I can't wait to go back with my family!
