“Excellant knowledge of the island”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

Peter had an in depth knowledge of wildlife, history, plants, places and things to do. I never found him in error or even over stating his factual understanding (which I am apt to do). He never overstayed his conversation and always left me wanting to hear more. He arranged for tours and bicycle rental. We tried to get dive trips scheduled, but the wind was too much.

Apart from breakfast, the food was truly a challenge. At the end of Little Exuma, there was a beach bar (the only place Peter recommended), which had truly awesome grouper. Do not go to Exuma to enjoy eating--I lost several pounds.

“Fantastic Island & Great B & B”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

If you are looking for a place just to unwind the exuma Island is the place to be, the people are very friendly and the have some of the best beaches in the world and we live in a country (Australia) that has them also so I feel Im qualified to judge!

If you are looking for a B&B then Coral gardens is just the spot, Peter the owner was fantastic and really could not do enough to help us out, always willing to share his vast amount of knowledge that only living on the Island can provide you with.

The place to go for us was Chat & Chill! If you do go there make sure you have somebody that stays sober to sail the boat for the short trip home otherwise you might find yourself sailing around the Island all day and night!!

“Best spot to visit Exuma”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

Dear Folks,
that's the perfect place to visit Great and Little Exuma, it's first of all a B&B, but Peter Oaxley, the gentleman owner of the mansion, can provide you also large apartments on the side of the house (up to a family of 6), or 2 apartments on the beach that are more expensive but very cool.
The accomodation it's not very gorgeous, but essential, so if you rent a car (best at the airport, more updated and without challenge for road damages) I think it's the best spot to stay to visit the Island.
It is very close (not more than 10 minutes by car) to one of the best located restaurants on the Island: "CATCH THE FIRE" on the West coast (open just for dinner), and to other 2 restaurants less faschinating but good enought.

“Fantastic Exuma”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

We've spent 1 week across the last Christmas holidays.
We were staying at the apartments Bahamas Bliss, very nice location eventhough a little bit windy.
The apartment was very nice, clean and with everything you may need to spend a relaxing vacation away from the city.
We spent days on desert fantastic beaches with fantastic sea colors.
Peter has been a precious source of information.
He's very nice and helpful for directions for fantastic beaches, restaurants and shops where to buy food.
Pay attention to sand flies particularly active at sunset on the beach.
food price is very high compared to USA or to Europe due probably to the transportation costs but almost everything can be found in the few shops available.
Restaurant suggested for local food: Big Ds , Exuma point and Santana(Little Exuma).
It has been an unforgettable vacation.

Hi both,

So glad that you enjoyed your first visit to Exuma & thank you for your very kind TripAdvisor comments. You will be pleased to know that our new beach apartments for this summer are located on a protected & beautiful calm beach with little wind at any time.

Hope we can welcome you again & best wishes from a sunny & 28* Exuma.

“Really proud of the choice we made”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 December 2011

We are a quite young Italian couple (33 years old) with a 1 & 1\2 year old boy. We decided to chose Exuma because we wanted something out of the main touristic route and we chose this B&B because it seemed to be more in line with the island’s expectations. We are still really happy about this B&B that resulted to be well organized, pretty, cleaned and placed right in the middle of the island (it helps if you want to see different beaches every day). Peter, the owner of the B&B, is an very precise English man, always kind and available and his morning indications and advises about what to see, where to go and what to avoid (i.e. in case of strong wind) made the different. Thanks to his directions we were able to reach the most worth to see places of the island without wasting any time (just few places have got signs indicating where to turn in the middle of nothing).
