We've spent 1 week across the last Christmas holidays.
We were staying at the apartments Bahamas Bliss, very nice location eventhough a little bit windy.
The apartment was very nice, clean and with everything you may need to spend a relaxing vacation away from the city.
We spent days on desert fantastic beaches with fantastic sea colors.
Peter has been a precious source of information.
He's very nice and helpful for directions for fantastic beaches, restaurants and shops where to buy food.
Pay attention to sand flies particularly active at sunset on the beach.
food price is very high compared to USA or to Europe due probably to the transportation costs but almost everything can be found in the few shops available.
Restaurant suggested for local food: Big Ds , Exuma point and Santana(Little Exuma).
It has been an unforgettable vacation.

We are a quite young Italian couple (33 years old) with a 1 & 1\2 year old boy. We decided to chose Exuma because we wanted something out of the main touristic route and we chose this B&B because it seemed to be more in line with the island’s expectations. We are still really happy about this B&B that resulted to be well organized, pretty, cleaned and placed right in the middle of the island (it helps if you want to see different beaches every day). Peter, the owner of the B&B, is an very precise English man, always kind and available and his morning indications and advises about what to see, where to go and what to avoid (i.e. in case of strong wind) made the different. Thanks to his directions we were able to reach the most worth to see places of the island without wasting any time (just few places have got signs indicating where to turn in the middle of nothing).

We chose Coral Gardens based on trip advisor reviews and it turn out to be the best possible decision. Betty and Peter are wonderful hosts. Take Peter advice on restaurants and places to see. When I say that this place is more like a home, I mean it in every way. Be prepared to share a table during the breakfast with other people, don't expect a minibar in your room or 24-hour room service. This is a basic accomodation with great atmosphere and good price. My concern before going to Coral Gardens was the location. You need a car, unless you want to stick to one beach and one grocery store. But actually it turn out that would be the case wherever you stay on Exuma. There are only few taxis on the island and they need to be booked in advance, so renting a car is a must anyway. (Of course you can go to Sandals and not once leave the hotel, but that would be a total waste) Anyway we rented a car through Peter and it was another good decision, as we could easily explore the island and it's beaches. Overall we highly recommend, both Exuma and Coral Gardens.
Tip. Going to Exuma Point, go beyond it (no risk of getting lost, there's only one road) and on your left you will find tiny beach with shallow waters and beautiful sandbars.
Tip. Try grouper and conch.
Tip. Take the boat trip around the Cays. It's amazing. Have your own bread for iguanas and piggies. Capt. Pat Smith is not only true enthusiast but also the cheapest on the island.

The Exuma Islands was definitely the perfect getaway spot for me and my husband! We were looking for a place that was more secluded, less touristy and full of beaches! Well we found all of this here! To top off the beautiful island, Coral Gardens was the perfect accommodation for us! Peter and Betty were so warm and welcoming and most helpful to ensure we had all the "insider" information needed to get the most out of our vacation. My favorite part was that we had such gorgeous beaches and views all to ourselves for most of the week - this allowed us to truly relax and enjoy! Our morning chats with Peter over breakfast as we planned out our days was always wonderful and appreciated! This island and the value of having personal guides far exceeded our expectations because I guarantee we wouldn't have found some of our favorite beaches without Peter's help! Thank you so much for providing this Paradise Getaway we so desperately needed!
