Our second trip to Eleuthera and first at Capricorn House. Words do not do it justice! A magnificent old world Caribbean estate. The home and grounds are lovingly and immaculately kept. The property is more than completely stocked with everything needed to feel at home in this exceedingly comfortable and welcoming home. The kitchen is professional and large. The house can accomodate as many as 14 people though we had it all to ourselves...it was a dream vacation...but only for those who "get" Eleuthera...it is about relaxing and immersing yourself in the beauty of this gorgeous and pleasant island and enjoying time with family or friends, not about running or night clubbing or shopping. The grounds (16 acres) are simply stunning. The private pool and bar are a great way to spend the afternoon between trips to the pristine postcard private beach. A full bath house is located at the path to the beach. Between that and the poolside fridge you never need to leave the beach area! One evening we walked from the house along the beach to Tippy's, a fantastic beachfront bar and restaurant with a world class chef, local reggae, and amazing views. Then we walked back (10 minutes) to the house under some of the darkest skies and brightest stars I've ever had the pleasure to see.
The house is located on the island's most desireable stretch of the Atlantic...private, elevated, simply beautiful.
Anne, the property manager, is a gem. Extremely responsive and pleasant, she catered to our two year old daughter and had the house set up with a crib and pack and play...also, when we had any issue, it was resolved immediately. The staff at the house are sweet and pleasant...Janeth is wonderful.
We were thrilled and plan to return many times in the future...Eleuthera and Capricorn House have captured our hearts.
