“Perfect!”

I can not say enough positive things about The Duck Inn. The setting is so beautiful! You really feel like you are staying in a botanical garden filled with the most beautiful flowers you have ever seen. I could not stop taking pictures. Besides that, the hosts (the Duckworth family), do everything they can to make your stay pleasant. The tips they give about beaches to visit and things to do were always right on! We stayed in Cupids Cottage and were in heaven. If you don't like the setting of hotels or resorts this is the place for you!

“wish we stayed longer.............................”

Well, it's time to write a review of this awesome place.
We stayed in the Hunnypot Studio boasting a beatiful view of the quiet Carribean Cupid Cay.
The "home" is nicely furnished with antique furniture, there was a king size bed(very comfy), there are many nooks to sit down. There is a fully equipped

kitchen. Everything works in the studio. The bathroom always has hot water and the shower is great. There is cable TV and wifi as well. The patio is lovely

to lounge around during the day and during sunset times, which are spectacular. The housekeeper really keeps the place clean and neat.

The hosts John and Katy made us feel at home from the beginning. We were invited twice to join their wonderful parties they host...and boy they are wonderful

people!!! At those events we met other Elutherians as well and that was great experience. We had fun conversations with John, Katy and their niece. The place

is quiet, peaceful,relaxing...We stayed one week and if felt it was not enough...The garden is also a real pleasure... There is a black and white cat that

occasionally comes to the patio and is very friendly, the family also has 3 dogs,if you have a chance play with the little ones -they are very cuddly....The

location of DUCKINN could't be better- very central in Governors Harbour- you can walk on foot & explore dowtown - it is a pretty town with nice houses in

tropical setting and the walk is really worthy. I recommed THE DUCK INN to anyone going to Eleuthera...

“Super Place to relax and soak in the Bahamian culture”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 November 2007

We stayed in the "HunnyPot" which is the middle of the three suits. It is on the second floor above the reception office and is extremely spacious (about twice the size of the average hotel room). It boasts a full kitchen with large fridge, stove with oven, microwave, coffee maker, blender, toaster, and place setting for at least 4 with all the pots and pans you'll need to prepare any meal. We even baked cookies. There is an abundance of spices, and John and Katy will "lend you a cup of sugar" whenever needed. John and Katy are gracious hosts, always ready to help with anything you need. There is free high speed wireless internet on the property, although it does go down every so often (it's a Bahamian ting). The Hunnypot has a king size bed, a sitting area with desk and chairs, a futon that doubles as a sofa, kitchen table and chairs, and a cozy arm chair. The bathroom has shower but no bathtub. Bring your own hair dryer, shampoo etc. There is satellite TV and we even got CBC with hockey night in Canada. There is a deck that overlooks the harbour and cupids cay and the sunsets are fantastic. The orchid garden occupies most of the grounds and is a perfect place to sit and read when the sun gets too hot. All in all, this is a place we'll definitely come back to.

“A bit of paradise in 'Lutra.....”

We have just returned from Eleuthera and a stay at The Duck Inn. The cottage was wonderful, the grounds and gardens immaculate. John and Katy were great and very helpful with suggestions on places to see, eat, etc. Really good bonefishing just steps from our door and John is up to date on tides, lures, etc. We can't wait to return for another stay at this island paradise.

“Awesome! We loved every minute of it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2006

Our family stayed at the Duck Inn and we loved it! We stayed at the Flora's Garden House. The house was well equipped and had 4 bedrooms and two bathrooms with a full kitchen. The service was wonderful and the house and gardens were beautiful. We have traveled to many places, but this was the most peaceful experience that we have ever had. We visited many beaches, but some of our favorites were the Light House Beach (need a SUV), Rainbow Beach and Club Med Beach. We found many shells while snorkeling. The people were fantasic, and we were surprised by two fisherman when they gave us a 7 pound lobster that they had just caught, they just said Merry Christmas. I can not explain the feeling that it gave us to be on this beautiful island at Christmas time.

Driving on the left hand side was an a bit difficult at first. You should bring some supplies as this is a very remote location. You should bring sun screen, and most of your dry goods. If you are looking for entertainment this is not your island.

We visited Harbour Island and rented golf carts and went on the beautiful pink sand beach. The weather was great!

John, Kayte and Taco (the dog) were wonderful hosts! We plan on returning very soon!
