We just returned last week from the Bahamas. My husband, toddler & I spent five terrific nights at Uniques, which were the highlight of our trip. The staff at the hotel was helpful and friendly, especially toward our rambunctious 2 year old. The facilities were in great shape - rooms very clean and well-supplied (though, the nails on the grounds around the hotel and new pool area were concerning!) The pool area was refreshing and always clean. We took most of our meals in the restaurant at Uniques and enjoyed them immensely - portions were huge and always delicious. And the beach was all that we hoped for and more. As it was low season, we rarely had to share the beach with anyone. The beach was relatively clean and the waters of the Atlantic were warm, clear and so welcoming. The beach at Uniques is really the best thing about the resort. We hope to return here and stay longer the next time. We were absolutely charmed by the island of Eleuthera and especially its' islanders.

I am a Bahamian native but have yet to visit the other islands of the Bahamas besides the one i currently reside; so I just recently decided to vist the islands of the Bahamas an I think I made an execellant choice by starting with Eleuthera. I believe that all bahamian natives are friendly, but the people of Eleuthera are very friendly. The Unique Village is a beautiful little hide away in Palmetto Point the staff there are very nice helpful people. It took us a while to find the resort after arriving to the island because its off the main road in a residential area but after arriving to the resort it was so nice an quiet. The Island is amazing, I strongly recommend the unique village and the island of Eleuthera. To fully appreaciate the island it would be best to get a rental car and travel from one end of the island to the next make sure you visit the ocean hole and the glass window bridge (awesome!!). YOU WOULD BE BLOWN AWAY!!!!! This is a place for people who appreciate peace and quiet and beautiful. There is little to no night life in Eleuthera so spending a night or two in Harbour Island would be good for anyone who is looking for a bit of excittment .

Let me just start off my saying that I had the best vacation of my life here...

First of all, the property is gorgeous. There are miles of unspoiled beach, perfect for a romantic getaway, or just a trip to relax. I laid out in the hammock for hours...it was surreal. I was stretched out with the sun shining on me and the ocean breeze rocking me to sleep, you should really experience it. The pool and the tennis court were also lots of fun to use.

I visisted the resort with my husband, and one of the best parts of the entire trip was the food at the restaurant, which is a stone's throw from the room. You must try the fish and the Unique Burger...they are both to die for! Everything I ordered from the menu was excellent, and you could tell it was made to order. There is also a bar in the restaurant that has so many drinks, I had never ever heard of half of them!

The rooms were very nice as well. Of course they didn't look like anything out of a grand palace, but they were very clean, spacious and felt very homey. I have no complaints about it.

The people there were also very friendly. I wished I could take them home with me. They were ready to answer anything I asked, and accommodated my husband and I in every possible way.

If you like fishing, you will also love it here. You can charter a boat to take you out, and it is a really fun trip. I didn't like fishing or boats before I tried it!

This trip was the best I have ever been on. If you think Atlantis and Nassau are good, then guess again. Eleuthera is a beautiful place to explore and unwind, and Unique Village is a great place to stay while you do it. PLEASE, please do youself a favor and stay here. I am saving up for my next trip right now!

If you are looking for peace and tranquilty then Uniques is the place to go. The hotel is magnificent. We have never experienced such incredible service and hospitality. Upon our arrival we were warmly welcomed by the manager. It is not only reasonable and fabulous but a slice of heaven.

The beach which is just a few feet away is wonderful and it doesn't get crowded. Some days we were the only couple on the beach..The food is wonderful. The staff is courteous and very accommodating. While there you must try the bartenders' Bahama Mama and Goombay Smash....awesome!!!!

The rooms are very spacious and very very clean. The maid service is punctual and thorough.. Bessie Mae our maid was very sweet and delightful. The grounds are well groomed and there are coconut trees everywhere.

The Township is just a few minutes walk away. There is a sports bar on the highway called "Windchimes" owned by Mr. Johnson. A delightful and charming man. For a more faster pace I suggest you visit "The fish fry" in Governors Harbour on Friday evenings.

There was never a dull moment. It was worth every penny.
