We just returned from Bimini Bay Resort after a 10 day visit to the island. I should start off by saying that we have always used Trip Advisor before travelling, but were never a contributor, until now. I should point out that I am not an owner there and there are no reasons of self-interest in making this post. I must admit that I was a little apprehensive after reading some of the comments about the resort and so we booked only two nights at first so that we could see how it goes before committing to any more. In the end, we spent our entire trip at the resort. We were well attended to and all aspects of the resort exceeded our expectations.
The staff was friendly and always more than willing to help us out. The lodging units are fabulously spacious, well-appointed and stocked for your dine-in needs. The only thing missing for us was a grill, but one of the neighbors happily let us cook some fresh local lobster on theirs when the need arose. We stocked our full-sized fridge at Trevs and also Roberts’s stores as these seemed to be the best value and were well stocked when we visited them.
We ate at Sabors, the Infinity Pool grill and the Sports Bar, and all of them were excellent experiences. When I expressed concern that the wine by the glass that we ordered was possibly open from the night before, the Manager came to our table and opened two new bottles, gave us tastings of each, and allowed us to choose the one of our liking. The food costs were not unreasonable compared to other experiences in the Bahamas, and on the island. We also ate at Edith’s pizza which is close to the resort and not to be missed. Also, be sure to get some cinnamon Bimini bread from Nate at his place on the queen’s highway.
At the resort, we used the onsite pools which were awesome and never had a hard time finding a place to setup. We sat at the beach on the north end of the resort and had a three hour walk along the north shore of the island on beaches that literally ran forever. We went for a guided kayak tour to the healing hole and were able to participate in a SNUBA dive that was conducted at a shipwreck near the south end of the island with the team at Bimini Undersea. This experience was nothing short of awesome. The dive master gave us a great sense of security as neither my wife nor I had ever dived before. It was a quick fifteen minute orientation and then we were in the water and diving at 20 feet.
In summary, we had a fantastic stay at the Bimini Bay Resort and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is considering going there.
