Like I said, lets get something straight about Bimini Ocean Villas. If you plan on going to a very quaint, romantic, secluded, personal, exotic, yet fabulous place in the world, then you need to call Barbara and reserve a villa.
The love of my life, Marye and I spent 8 days in the villa above the beach in March/April of 2009 and absolutely cannot wait to get back. It was one of the hardest decisions of my life to depart back to California.
Barbara picked us up at the water taxi right on time as we arrived and from there on out we felt like we were locals the entire time. The people on the island are the most amazing people I have ever encountered and I can say I have dealt with many, many people. Everyone is friendly and respectful of the tourists.
Bimini is sooooo amazingly phenomenal that it is indescribable. The hospitality that Barbara delivers is also indescribable; she was always there for us when we needed something, yet never, ever intrusive. The villa was immaculate, clean and left nothing to desire. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, airy living room, dining room and kitchen; all necessities were readily available.
I could go on and on and on and on about how fabulous our vacation was earlier this year but there are truly no words in this universe that could emphasize how incredible the experience at Bimini Ocean Villas was and how beautiful and romantic and peaceful, yet fun the North and South Bimini Islands are. When I think Bahamas, I think Nassau or Paradise Island ... but Bimini is the true Bahama, besides they got "Yama Bahama" there ... :) That is something you have to figure out the meaning to once you finally get to Bimini. Just got to Yama's Bar, you will sit there for hours listening to his story, an incredible story I must say, trust me, you won't be bored ... maybe a little drunk by nights end, but definately not bored. Hope you like spiced rum. :)
Radio beach is steps away from the villa, the water is just an absolutely, indescribable turquoise. There is a shipwreck 1/4 mile from you to the left. There are remnants from hurricaine Andrew that are sad yet realistic. Don't forget to visit the straw market and buy something from the ladies there; if you went to Bimini on this review, you must buy something from them, it is a respectful order. Visit Captain Bob's restaurant for the best breakfast & lunch you will ever experience in the Bahamas and visit the Marina on South Bimini for dinner .. have the steak and lobster ($22 when we were there) you WILL NOT regret it. If you are lucky, you might be able to observe a Junkanoo practice session in the streets ........
Well, I guess I really could go on and on and on about Bimini, but I should leave the secret island some secrets. Trust me, just go to Bimini and enjoy everything about it, find new things, find everything, find nothing at all ... that is the joy of Bimini.
Oh, by the way, they have a fountain of youth which really works, trust me, I know for a fact!
Thats all for now, I could write a book about how wonderful Bimini and the Bimini Ocean Villas are but now that I think about it, that could be my next excuse to head back to the Island !!! Hey Now, theres a thought for my next visit ... :) ;)
Enjoy Bimini and keep Bimini the jewel that it is and remember ...
