My husband and I just returned from a trip to Binimi and Nassau. We stayed in the "apartment" at the Bimini Ocean Villas four nights and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The apartment was perfect....very cute and comfortable for two people. Has a kitchen (no dishwasher) and nice bathroom. Don't expect a 5 star hotel; this is a small and quant accomodation without fills. We loved it!!!! It's a place to get away from it all.. Ocean view, beautiful beach (which was basically private our entire stay - no one else on the beach), and we snorkeled from our beach too. It's walking distance to restaurants, convenience store (expect expensive, tiny, and sometimes not so clean stores), and water taxi to South Bimini. The hosptitality provided by the owners was outstanding. Barbara was extremely helpful in answering my email questions prior to our arrival, she picked us up from the dock, and even made flight arrangements to Nassau for us. She is wonderful.
Know that you will need to purchase coffee and other staples. The kitchen is fully stocked with cookware, dishes, coffee pot, toaster, etc. You just supply the food (although there was some coffee in the fridge when we arrived, but we had to buy more). No maid service during your stay. You leave your garbage and used towels outside the door each day. Extra towels are stocked in room -- even beach towels.
This is a very relaxing and quite vacation spot. We will definitely be back!

What happens when a gal turns 50? She takes 2 of her best girl friends and heads for a fun-filled week on Bimini! The Bimini Ocean Villas are lovely. We stayed in the Sunset Cabin, mere steps away from a deserted beach. The location is quiet, the beds are comfortable, there is an ensuite bathroom off each bedroom and the kitchen is well stocked with all the cooking utensils you will need to cook up fresh fish and seafood everyday. The cottage is suitable for a group of friends, 2 couples or a family. Each bedroom has a double and a single bed (and the couch and loveseat in the livingroom are comfortable too!) Barbara will get you oriented the first day as to where to buy groceries and is well connected to supply you with fresh fish. The beach is so close the the cabins that you can easily enjoy supper (and drinks!) on the beach. Beach chairs are provided as is a charcoal barbeque. This is a very relaxing place to stay and I highly recommend it. I LOVED this place! Be sure to go swimming with wild dolphins while on Bimini. The tours are great and the experience unforgettable.

My mom and I stayed at the Bimini Ocean Villas for a week in early December 2006. The owners Barbara and Michael were great. Barbara answered many questions and concerns via email prior to our arrival and picked us up at the water taxi when we arrived in North Bimini. Michael answered many questions for us once we were settled into our villa and told us where to find things that we were interested in visiting. The Villa was charming and comfortable and had everything that we needed to prepare some of our meals. We stayed in the villa that faced the harbor which has a very deep front yard that provided more privacy and nature for us to observe such as the egret that walked around our front yard catching lizards for breakfast. The sunrise views were awesome and I am including one of the photos that I captured while in Bimini. The ocean was only a minute walk away to the rear of the villa. The villa is located a little to the south in Alice Town near the water taxi, Big Johns, and the End of the World bar. We were close enough to walk to several places and yet not in the direct center of town. Barbara brought us a golf cart which we rented and parked in the front yard and used it for many adventures exploring nearly the entire island because we could access anything and it made it much more enjoyable for my mother. Because mama had not traveled in so many years she felt comfortable having the privacy that our villa afforded us with each bedroom having its own bathroom. I have told several friends about our villa because it could easily be shared with friends or family and while it was not like staying in a fancy hotel or resort it was just what we were looking for on our trip to Bimini. Both Barbara and Michael questioned whether we needed anything and provided us with bottled drinking water and enough information to feel at home in Bimini along with all of the wonderfully friendly people that we meat; we cannot wait until we can return to our little home-away-from-home.

We stayed at the Bimini Ocean Villas for 3 nights. The Villa has a "homey" feel. Don't expect the "ritz" on this tiny island. The bathrooms are small and the villa is fully loaded with all the appliances you need (blender, coffee maker, pots and pans, etc...) The owner lives nearby and is willing to answer any questions or help in anyway. Make sure to request the "sunset" villa (the one we stayted in) because it has the best views!
