“Great place, crappy restaurant service and management”

This was my third visit since the reopening. The great time was once again impacted by substandard restaurant experience. I ain't picky, nor snobby, nor impatient. Its a fishing/diving joint, I get it. But... its totally impossible to imagine that it would take over 50 minutes to get served a basic, straight from the menu breakfast of eggs, french toast and ham.... I'll never know how long it actually took as my wife and I left $5 on the counter for coffee and tea and simply walked out as we had a dive trip for 9am scheduled. We walked in the restaurant at 7:50! Maybe 8 people in the whole place at that time. It took more than 10 minutes to even get to order coffee and iced tea.... and we were sitting at the bar, 2 feet from the wait staff (aptly named). We went off premises for all other meals after that. Hey, I know its the Bahamas, but c'mon Mon! Here's a real basic solution to part of the ridiculousness.... train or replace the staff and manager,... and put a coffee, water/ice, and tea station in the bar area! Why should the "wait some more" staff have to go back into the unseen kitchen area to get coffee or tea?... only to apparently get back there and get lost in some other dimension/void. Put pitchers of coffee, water and iced tea within reach and most of us will be glad to help ourselves. The Big Game Club has great amenities, mostly due to location....it should be the place everyone visiting Bimini should go to eat at least once per visit... however it is becoming most famous as the place to go visit for everything other than eating due to the notoriously bad, restaurant management and execution. Oh yeah, the dive trips were spectacular and the wahoo bite was on!

“Big Game creates beautiful wedding!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 December 2011

My groom and I stayed at the Big Game Club over Thanksgiving weekend 11/24/11. My Fiancé, Dave, traveled there by boat from Miami and planned our wedding with the help of the Big Game staff with just 4 days’ notice!
Management: Michael and Diana were completely available and utterly attentive during our entire stay and instrumental in creating a magical and memorable wedding. They carefully gathered all of our wishes and preferences and then activated their team, checking throughout and even attending our wedding ceremony. They even arranged for fresh pink flowers to be flown in from nearby Nassau when none could be found on Bimini. It is their culture of kindness that informs all staff/guest relations and their influence and attention to detail can be felt in every corner of this beautiful property and in each task performed by their team.
Food and Beverage: Tyrone, Ali and his team prepared a special dockside romantic dinner post ceremony with a special menu just for me (I’m a vegan) as well as special ordered Champagne to be served at the ceremony and after. The menu, pricing and selection at the Bimini Big Game Bar and Grill were outstanding.
Hotel Staff: Vince and his crew custom created a beautiful arch they hand crafted and painted for us to be married under. The housekeeping, grounds, wait staff, and shop clerks were all very gracious and conscientious and their desire to be of service never wavered.
Hotel amenities and Dockage: The grounds were beautifully landscaped and expertly maintained. The pool, cabana, restaurants and overall layout maximize the beautiful view. The convenience of trash and water service was very efficient. The dock masters and concierge staff were very responsive. The penthouse suite we stayed in for our honeymoon was gorgeous with teak accents, a whirlpool tub, fresh flowers and amazing view! Overall, the hotel location is superb with sweeping views of Bimini Bay are extraordinarily picturesque at all times of the day and night. The property is also within easy walking in distance to the bakeries, straw market and shops and other town attractions such as the Dolphin House and museum should you choose to explore.

Room Tip: Try the penthouse suite--worth it!

“Stayed at the BBGC since it was on my Bucket List”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 December 2011

I stayed at the BBGC June-2011. I was part of the Boat Fling group. Once we arrived there was a confusion as to which slip I would be berting at. It took an act of congress to get my boat in to this slip everyday. Once we docked there the Wi-Fi coverage was terrible. Had to get the laptop and go to the restaurant area to get coverage. We stayed on the boat so it was a pain. My slip had metered water while all the slips on the north end had free water. My water bill for 3 days was $68 US. When we arrived with fish we were informed there was no cleaning fish allowed. But if we paid a local he would clean our fish(???). We were not allowed to set up the barby pit since these were not allowed. I feel that since this is the most expensive marina on the island these issues should be taken care of.
The BBGC needs to realize that we travel to Bimini to relax in an enviroment with out all the restrictions. We live in SOFLA with rules and regulations running out of our ears. I will be returning in May and June of this new year. I'm currently looking at different marina options.

Room Tip: Stay in the north side slips.

“Second time back & I was still impressed!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 December 2011

A group of us went to Big Game in April after just spending New Year's there (which I wrote a really long repview about!), and was still impressed with the service, property, and the overall good time we had!

This time we got to experience the diving Bimini has to offer with the dive shop on property and were thoroughly impressed yet again! Definitely recommended!

“Relaxing, enjoyable vacation”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

My wife and I spent 3 nights here recently and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff was very friendly, courteous and accommodating. The food in their restaurant/bar was very good and we didn't think their prices were exhorbitant, but comperable to what you would pay at any hotel/resort. We stayed in one of their 4 penthouse suites, which was very large and well appointed. Only possible drawback for some people is having to climb 2 sets of stairs (no elevator) to reach that level. It has a nice pool, although it is V-shaped (to maximise pool-side seating I suppose) which hampers anyone trying to swim laps. I was amused while relaxing by the pool to occasionally see seagulls landing in the pool to drink some fresh water (although the manager was NOT amused and shooed them away if he saw them). I would definately recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Bimini.
