“One Private Retreat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

This is an excellent escape to a private "island" resort. It is the perfect blend of top notch service and comfortable informality and friendliness. The cottages are right on your very own patch of beach, throwing open the porch doors to a view right over the ocean before you head in for a swim on your part of the sand. Food is excellent in the Great House and service always aims to be flexible to your times and needs. A home to escape to.

“A peaceful haven”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

Kamalame Cay is a tranquil and isolated resort just off the island of Andros. It is a 3 mile cay (meaning 3 miles of empty beach), and the portion of the cay that is developed for the resort is beautiful and serene. This resort is not over the top fancy, but the rooms are tastefully done and we found the service to be very accomodating and responsive ... they are quite eager to please, making the few inconveniences we experienced (several short power outages, once our hot water ran out, limited food options given we visited during a slow period) seem trivial. The chef is eager to please and on a couple of the slower nights he offered to cook whatever we wanted, without regard to a menu. This is the perfect place to go for a relaxing, quiet vacation where you really want to feel away from it all. You need nothing more than your swim gear and casual wear, so don't overpack. Enjoy!

Room Tip: Would not recommend marina rooms ... we didn't stay in them but if you travel to this resort, yo...

“Best Choice in Andros”

When you arrive in Andros, you are in a very particular island where the sea enter inside the land shaping the profile of the island, it's the 5th largest island on the Caribbean with just 8,000 inhabitants.
The Kamalame Cay Resort is just of the northern easters coast of Andros, (the cay is few yards off the main island) and when you arrive you enter in an exlusive private island where the staff is very friendly and smiling, you can select a villa or a nest, it will be an extraordinary experience whatever you'll choose, the villa's poarch is directly on the beach with your private long chaire.
The resort has a first class restaurant and a Tiki bar on the pool/beach, you can move through the island with your private golf cart or picking up a bike.
Definitely the Kamalame Cay resort is the perfect romantic gateway.
It is not chip but you can say that it's a well done shopping.

“True Paradise!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

My boyfriend and I just got back from an unbelievable four days at Kamalame Cay. Not only are the beach villas (where we stayed) leaping distance to the gorgeous sand and ocean without a soul sight on this private island, but every last detail is thought of for you. Breakfast comes in a picnic basket to your door with a thermos of coffee and fresh squeezed orange juice and you have full reign of a dedicated golf cart for touring all three stunning miles of the island and find just the right picnic spot for lunch (the restaurant will pack you one to go). Tip: Have Patrice blend up a couple of her famous pina coladas for the trip. Cannot say enough good things about this place; it is truly paradise. The rooms are stunning, with featherbeds, a big bathtub, and you have a view of the ocean from every last corner.

“Beautiful Setting, Tired Property, Tragic Service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

This resort is in a magnificent setting. Unfortunately current management has let the property deteriorate. The focus on the magnificent fishing has declined to the point that the better guides are contemplating leaving the hotel. The overall service is amateurish. Be sure to ask for extra toilet paper!!!

Room Tip: Try to locate near the dining room, ask for extra toilet paper.
