My Wife and I and my Brother and his wife stayed at the Redwood. We enjoyed being there. I suppose if you are a nitpicker you could find things to complain about, but we found it to be clean, spacious, and comfortable. The staff was friendly and accomodating, and it's located within walking distance of everything. If we were ever to have the opportunity to return to the Bahamas, we would certainly stay at the Redwood again. A couple more pluses; It has a nice clean swimming pool and you can rent a car from the lobby.

You cannot beat the price for the location. The hotel itself is not bad either. We payed 1/3 of the price at the Redwood as we would of at the hotel on the beach across the street. You have less than a 3 minute walk to the beach, casino, count basie square, food, shops, marina, etc... You are also less than a block away from the bus stop that takes you to the international bazaar. We used the pool and beach access at the hotels across the street who charge $200+ a night. If your like me and your on a budget and you just use your hotel room to sleep the Redwood is the way to go. The older dude that owns the hotel is a nice guy if you respect him. He doesnt take any crap so I reccomend you be very nice to him.

i definatly go with above average i have stayed there several times the hotel is centrally located the owners do not charge the added 15 dollars per day per person fee that all other hotels charge you are right across the street from the beach bus stop a 3 min walk to casino and the free entertainment in pt lucaya all the shopping and straw market are across the parking lot the owners are great and try to keep the place clean some of the staff has been rude in the past when the owners are away and they do try to change that but overall if your looking for budget fun and easy access this is the place to stay

I could not believe the condition of this place! The hotels all around are much cleaner, and much nicer. I walked in and walked right back out. I went to another hotel immediately!
