“We'd do it again!”

When I booked the package trip, I was looking for golf, a pool, and ECONOMY. The Chillingsworth seemed to be the ideal spot. We knew it wasn't near the beach, but that was secondary to accomodations that would be our home base and yet offer some creature comforts. Unfortunately, the hurricane really tore up the part of the island where the Chillingsworth was located. It was heartbreaking to see all the damage and the heroic efforts of everyone to try to get the island back in shape. When we arrived at the Chillingsworth, we were initially disappointed. Not all of the 15 units were repaired and there was no water in the pool. It looked like we were the only guests there. When we got to our unit, a one bedroom condo, we were pleasantly surprised to find that it was very clean and comfortable. The management couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. She apologized about the pool which had developed some cracks and needed to be repaired. The property was clean and while the storms had torn up a lot of the vegetation, it really wasn't bad. The next day, we got up and took a cab to Lucaya to spend the day. We had access to the Westin and Sheridan pools and beaches and spent some time there enjoying the sun. We enjoyed the marketplace and had some great food there. The Casino is right in the middle of it all and we left a few dollars at the blackjack tables. We booked a golf game for the next day at the Reef Course and took a cab back to the Chillingsworth after dinner. The next day we took a cab to the golf course and were fortunate to be paired up with some Bahamians. They were delightful and friendly and the course was well maintained, if not a little expensive. The bottom line is that the Chillingsworth is a great bargain if what you are looking for is economy, friendliness, and cleanliness. It would have cost us about $1,000 more to stay the three nights at the Westin or Sheridan and the cost of the cabs to take us back and forth didn't even come close. It was quiet at night and we slept like babies. One afternoon we even returned early and sat out on our balcony and read and enjoyed the cool breezes. We were impressed with the Taxi services. All the drivers were very professional and friendly and didn't surprise us with extra charges like you find on a lot of the islands. One driver even stopped at the Winn-Dixie grocery store on the way back to the Chillingsworth so we could pick up some food for the night and we weren't charged extra. Chillingsworth was a great home base and we would do it again!

chillingsworth is a sham..I was decieved !upon my arrival ..I was asked..what are you doing here?I had a confirmation letter in my hand..they sent me away..not knowing where to go...fortunately the cab driver waited for me upon my request..and took me to a real resort that was not damaged by the hurricane. online site lodging did the booking .why were they still making reservations to this place? Why did they take so long refunding my money. Every time I called to get the issue resolved,I was told that the manager was on her honeymoon.WHAT!!! Does that have to do with me.Call#2..the manager just left..so,nobody let her know that ther was a problem...never got an apology or anything for my inconvenience.Oh yes...my luggage was also lost and was taken ther e...chillingsworth. I kindly asked the desk clerk there to please send my luggage over to me @another resort .I left my room number, name ,and room number and was told ...actually promised that I would get my luggage sent over asap!never happened! The people @chillingsworth sent my luggage to some other hotel..I had no luggage until the day before my departure back home.

“Do Not Book a Room at the Chillingsworth!”

The Chillingsworth "Resort" is a dump at best. Please be forewarned. My husband and I booked a 6 night stay at the Chillingsworth in order to celebrate my birthday. We were horrified. The patio door would not lock, there was no telephone, hotel staff was not available after 5pm, it is located in a remote area, we did not have hot water, the TV did not work, and to make matters worse, the Chillingsworth has a roach infestation problem! Please do not give the Chillingsworth your business.

“Deceptive Business Practices”

Please be advised that I used Hotwire to purchase this hotel property. NEVER AGAIN. This was my first purchase on Hotwire, and will be my last. The first two reviews of this property were actually kind compared to the e-mail I sent Hotwire to demand a refund and reimbursement.

This place is nothing more than a slum, a hovel. Hotwire told me that this was a 2.5 star property. This was a MINUS 2.5 star property. It was horrible, filthy, I didn't even have a phone in my room so that my husband could contact my 13yr old daughter and myself.

Suffice it to say, that we packed right back up and checked into a different property. I don't think I was asking too much to stay in a property that was at a minimum, safe and clean.

I would advise readers to continue to use Priceline for their internet travel plans...Priceline has never let me down, I have no idea why I didn't stay with them for this trip. Guess I've learned my lesson!

“This is a motel”

Chillingsworth court should never be referred to as a resort. I have never been to a resort (let alone a Days Inn on the side of the road) that had bars on the windows &doors. The pool was dirty. You would need to bring your own chair because their were none. The place had a very bad odor. We looked at two condos. The condos were additional dirty. I have never seen anything this bad and would never return.
