This is my second stay at Lakeview Manor Club. I am surprised the place has STILL not been updated.

Positives: this place has minimal guests and is very quiet. I saw maybe 3 other guests on the whole property. Having the kitchen and large living space was convenient.

Negatives: too far from activities - have to get the free shuttle that runs selectively or call a taxi. No phone in room. The air conditioner in the living room does not cool the place adequately. Dishes and pots that were provided were disgusting looking. The dishwasher was broken. There was infestation of some sort of gnats in the kitchen. The last visit there was an ant infestation. The carpet needed to be cleaned badly. The sheets on the bed had hair and stains on them. There was a white gooey substance running down the baseboard of the bed and on the mirror near the bed. Towels and other bed linen they provided did not look clean. The staff is rarely around to help hotel guests if they need something. The pool was dirty and did not smell of chlorine - never saw anyone cleaning it daily.

This place would do so much better if the staff/owners cared. It is in need of thorough cleaning and upgrading. I don't plan to return unless I'm there for a quick "hump & dump"

I found this resort on the internet.

Other than information from the website, I contacted the management via e-mail.
I requested information asking about location and stated that security and cleanliness were my priorities. They did not respond specifically to my concerns but referred me to their website for information.

The website stated that studio units are available. However, when I requested this accommodation, I was informed that none are available but they have 1 bedroom units for rent.

I tried to find out their availability. They fold me to send t my travel dates. I did so but never heard from them again.

After reading the latest review, I can see that it does not meet the standard I expected.

Lakeview manor is not worth your money. The location is a place going nowhere. You have to get a taxi, which costs $18, for any where you go. There is no restaurant or anthying in walking distance. They have charged electricty bill while we stayed. Shuttle service is only twice a day at 9am and 3pm from Monday to Saturday.

I just returned from a great 8 day stay at the Lakeview Manor Club! I rented their one-bedroom unit and was on the second floor overlooking the Ruby golf course. I found the unit clean, spacious and newly decorated. It had all of the comforts of home. It had a fully equipped kitchen with enough pots/pans etc... to cook our Thanksgiving dinner. It is a charming place to stay and is very affordable for what you get. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms have no phones, but I didn't miss it. I used the pay phone downstairs on the first floor or their free local phone for local calls. It was nice having a laundry facility to use too while there. The building showed little hurricane damage. Some chipped paint to exterior, but the building overall looks good. They had workman there fixing the roof and working in some of the units but there was little noise. It was a nice, quiet place to get away. Their pool is beautifully kept up too. It is off the beaten path, but it is only a few minutes to the beaches, downtown, shopping and most everything else. I will stay at the Lakeview again for sure. It is the closest accomodation I could find to Freeport harbor as well, as I had to go back and forth from there alot. It took me only about 10 minutes if that. The landscaping around the Lakeveiw and the golf course was hit hard during the hurricanes. Many trees are gone-or are only sticks now. That will take time to come back but some green leaves are starting to come back again. They have done alot in a short amount of time there as far as clean up goes. I would be happy to share more information about the Lakeview or Freeport with others seeking more detail. I would highly recommend the Lakeview Manor Club. Best vacation I have had in a while!
