Stayed here in January, the food was up to par with the 5 star standard of the resort. Overall service was excellent, especially considering it is in the Bahamas which often brings staff whom can have some attitude problems. The Cane outdoor pool and bar area is outstanding with a really cool vibe. Dinner at the Mesa Grill was excellent. The prices while at the resort are comparable to South Beach in Miami...High end product...High end prices. But remember these guys have to import 98% of everyhing therfore my opinion says great job, great value!
If you are looking for 4 star prices, book somewhere else.

Thanks to the previous reviews we were aware of the high costs and were prepared - thank goodness I read the reviews or I would have been shocked at the prices. I agree with many of the reviewers, Atlantis is amazing, fun, beautiful, the people are friendly and helpful, we had a fantastic time and hated to leave. We stocked up on snacks from Costco and packed them in a carry on, otherwise we enjoyed a variety of dining options and never had a bad meal. For lunch the eateries in the kid section of the water park are very reasonable and have some different options like grilled tomato/cheese or ham/cheese sandwiches and veggies bags. My only real complaint is that the beds are very hard. I have no idea how families afford this vacation, in this economy, although the resort was fairly empty during the first week of February.

We'll be back, we're starting an Atlantis fund.

Okay, yes I agree with all... Atlantis is unique and offers a Disney type of property with things for all ages. This was our third time so we might be a little critical... Here goes..
-The Cove has a stunning entry and foyer and staff are first rate.
the rooms were very nice and updated with all the latest techology. Nice.
- The slides and lazy river are very cool and well managed.
- The new marina village is very cool with fairly good rest's
- The movie theater is nice and comfortable, (old section)
- The overall sense to us was that they were generally understaffed though.
- The costs around the resort are insane and the nickel and dime billing on the rooms abusive. Please note; tack on another $85 worth of misc charges to your daily room charge.
- TIP OF THE DAY.. Breakfast and lunch at Starbucks and save huge $$$$ Great breakfast and lunch deals on sandwiches and salads! Shhhhhh... Secret...
- We love Atlantis but the overall costa for a family of 5 is insane as we could've rented a huge house with a swimming pool in Cancun, Mexico with maid and butler for what it costs.. If you love casinos, waterparks and aquariums then you might justify costs...Again, the ocean waters are gorgeous , the town... not so much. Oh yes, the vans that move you around work well moving you from one property to another. The golf by the way is said to be great...

We enjoyed our time at the Cove. The atmosphere is sophisticated and elegant. It is much more quiet than the rest of the resort. There is a private adults only pool area with a DJ spinning music. We liked having Mosaic downstairs for breakfast.

All the rooms are suites. We enjoyed the spaciousness of our suite and bathroom. No jacuzzi tub - but a nice soaking tub. The bathroom amenities are Red Flower all natural product from New York. I like them so much I intend to purchase them when I get back home.

The only negative is that apparently it's ok to smoke in this hotel, and our next door neighbors were smokers. I woke up a couple of times in the middle of the night thinking I was in a nightclub, we hate cigarette smell - so that was a bit frustrating. My husband started rolling towels and putting them across the door frames to block the smioke. That seemed to help.
