“Beautiful, Fun and Friendly Place”

The Marley Resort was a great Hotel. It is a true boutique hotel. It is the anti-sandals. I recommend it to people who like original hotels and are willing to adventure out on your own. Personalized service, helpful people, and must stop for Bob Marley fans. Would be a perfect spot for a destination wedding.

My wife and I swam daily in the ocean. Hotel sits on a beautiful view of the water and can swim in front of the Hotel. Walk to other beaches and shops. (Starbucks about half mile away, Nettie's across the street great local food and atmosphere, grocery store very close walk)

The Chef at the Marley is absolutely fabulous. He takes tradition Bahama's food and makes it exciting and very tasty. A Must do.****

Trip details: The best cab driver in Bahamas and will not rip you off. His name is Mark and his phone number is [--].

Highly recommend snorkeling the Thunderball reef (James Bond Film). Only costs $50 per person and the boat ride out there is incredible too.

Cabbage Beach-Fun, but very busy, Lots of jet skis, actual coconut drinks on the beach, and chairs to rent.

Nobu-Have eaten at the Nobu in San Diego. This one at Atlantis is a NO!!!! Way over priced for very average food. Service is terrible. For two people with drinks you are $200plus for very average food.

Atlantis Casino- Fun place, good table games, try the hand wrapped cigars

“Beautiful Boutique Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 August 2010

Went there with a large group of adults (no kids) recently off season, had a great time at this small but beautiful hotel. The staff was VERY friendly and helpful. But remember, everything’s sllllooooowww in the Bahamas, so be prepared to wait for breakfast, etc. The location was 10 minutes from the airport, and a short drive to everything.

Rooms were impeccable, and at least our room was huge (think some of the rooms are of different sizes). They name each room, which is a nice touch (recommend “Sun is Shining,” which is off the water but we liked it). The connection to Bob Marley is cool. And the size makes you feel like you’re staying at someone’s estate, and not a nameless faceless visitor to Hilton/Marriott/Etc.

Not that they can control this, but you should know that (at least as of July 2010) the beach erosion was so bad, all that’s left was the rock foundation that would normally be under the sand, but once you’re out in the blue water, no one cares.

Had a great time, would return no question.

“best of the dreams”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 July 2010

By far one of the best trips ever. The place is authentic with Bob Marley spirit in the air. The concept of the resort is a boutique hotel with only 16 rooms. We were alone in the hotel for a week which created a spectacular feeling of living in a private villa. The staff is extremely friendly and helps with everything starting from booking a taxi, recomending a place for the dinner or printing the boarding passes. The sea is awasome - best sea we have ever experienced,

We had a room with the ocean view and it was great. Tip: take a moskito cream since in the evenings you might be beaten by some (not many)
From "areas to improve" - the menu for the breakfast is limited, so we cornflakes were finished and they didn't serve enough fruites.

we were so looking forward to this small boutique hotel. from the minute i checked in nothing went right. from the bartender telling me there was no fresh juices, then turning around and walking literally 10 feet to the 'juice bar' hut. did the bartender tell me? nope! so i bought a perrier at the bar, and then had to buy the fresh oj that i was looking for. first night, we go to sleep aroung midnight..........music blaring outside our room. go out at 1:30 to ask them to turn it off. no music is on anywhere else but by our room. could i find anyone to turn it off? NO. could i find security? NO. reception NO. how secure would you feel at this point. okay no sleep. music blaring all night. morning comes and we order coffee. cream is sour but they say its the cream and it heavy. the wont give us a fresh cream. sour cream and coffee first thing in the morning. yikes! should i mention the safe in the room? never worked and they couldnt fix it? that we had to use another rooms safe! that was convenient! or the massage i had?? one of the best, except that someone came in not once but twice while im getting massaged?? never happened before. and to finish off this lovely stay, the asst manager thought he should only speak to the person who reserved the room. didnt matter that i was paying half the bill, he was rude and not helpful at all. overall, for the amount of money they charge, you can save your money and stay at a 2 star which will give you the smae services. by the way, the web site says they have this beautiful white beach. all we saw we rocks that was deflintley not sand, nor could you sit there or use the water. they only have rocks.

“Wonderful stay at the Marley”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 June 2010

If you are looking for a sterile, cookie cutter, all inclusive behemouth - this is not your place. We visited the Atlantis on Paradise Island for the afternoon and couldn't wait to get back to our oasis. I'm a little biased because we got upgraded to the Legend Suite - Fabulous! We stayed the 1st weekend in June and there were not a lot of guests so it was even more peaceful.
The staff could not have been nicer. The rooms and grounds are lovely and one of a kind. The Spa was 1st class (I recommend the Natural Mystic Touch massage). Food was excellent! Great flavor, presentation and portions. Everything is expensive (even fast food has an automatic gratuity) in the Bahamas and the Marley is on par (and worth it).
We knew to relax and be on 'Island Time' so anything less than perfect was ok. I think that because there were lots of vacancies when we arrived some things were even more relaxed. Some items on menu were not available - ask before you decide what you want, not sure why they couldn't make a frozen alcoholic beverage two different times, another (lazy) reviewer couldn't get up to go to the bar and get his own drink - I enjoyed taking a break from the sun to have a fresh drink made for me. The pools (much smaller than they appear in photos) were closed until the night before we left, but the pool area was open for sunning, very pleasant, and the ocean was just steps away. The sand is all underwater but wonderful to lay on the rocks. I got several mosquito bites - mostly in the courtyard/bar area but they left my mother alone. The Bob Marley tunes playing by the pool set the mood all day, but I would love if they would lower the volume - sometimes I'd rather hear the waves - and rotate the CDs more often.
The Sunday singer was great - yes add her another night. This was a one of a kind experience. It really was like staying at your rich friends' estate. Beautiful, Relaxing, Delicious !!
