“Great alternative to the big resorts”

If you are not a big resort person and want a place to relax and get away from it all, this is it. We had our one year old with us and this place was extremely accomodating with him. There were several of the service staff that went above and beyond for us (the maintenance guy drove me to the store and back so I could be milk and food for our little one!). A couple of notes from out trip that may help you out: if you eat at the resturant, get the chef's seafood special, it is worth it; the bar seating has a separate less expensive bar menu that isn't advertised at all; west bay street is not pedestrian friendly so I would recommend a rental car if you want to leave the resort (cabs are expensive and they drive like maniacs); if you have an infant, book one the studios and bring your baby monitor as the pool and restuarant are 20 yards away and you can put your child down for naps or for the night and enjoy the pool or dinner with your spouse!
Pros: Fantastic location and ocean views, excellent service, good food at the restuarant (some of the wait staff are on island time), no need to leave the resort! Love Beach is not crowded at all.
Cons: Bed and pillows in room 103 were hard and old, need replaced. Band plays until midnight on weekends so it is noisy if you have a little one, the pool is not heated so it was too cold to swim for the most part. Love Beach is certainly not the best kept beach.

Room Tip: All rooms have great views of the ocean. We stayed in the less expense studio (103) which are right...

“Funky, off the beaten tourist path, a refreshing alternative to mega-hotels closer to Nassau and Paradise Island.”

A hidden gem, delightfully miles away from touristy mega-hotels. Staff is attentive but not overbearing. Loved everything about it.

“Great quick getaway”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 December 2011

My wife and I needed a quick "de-stress" getaway, and wanted a warm climate, beach, ocean, and relaxation away from the big hotel/casino activities. This pleasant property fit our needs exactly. A unique resort, definitely not "generic", Compass Point took a little getting used to. The individual cottages provided clean, very comfortable (but not fancy) accommodations with a private porch/balcony facing the ocean, nice pool, hot tub. Besides the ambiance, the highlights were the very friendly and helpful staff, and the excellent restaurant/bar. The food was very good, and the restaurant is frequented by many locals on the weekend for the food and service. The massage arranged at the spa was very good. The well-trained and professional staff went out of their way to see we were well-cared for and our needs were met. This resort is in a neighborhood away from the downtown and tourist areas of Nassau, so if frequent trips to shop, eat, tour, etc. are planned, a car rental would be advised (taxi fare is outrageous in Nassau, $20-$35 per one-way trip); good bus service is available on weekdays. We definitely will return to Compass Point to relax, enjoy the food and staff, and next time snorkel on the reef just off the resort's pier.

“better than we pictured!”

our family of four , my husband, our two boys, 21 and 16, and myself stayed in the two bedroom, two bath hut with the outdoor shower that was great. the hot tub sat at the foot of our hut which made it feel like it was our "private" hot tub. the food was great and the staff so helpful. we rented mopeds to get around and toured the island. by far the nicest place to stay on the island. not where the hub bub is and that's what we like. any of the huts are perfect, clean and spacious. you can't go wrong staying here. and "Leo" can drive you anywhere you need to go for a very reasonable price. we used Leo at night because it was dark and windy and we didn't want to drink and drive on the dark roads at night.
