Cubana airline put us up here overnight after we had been bumped from our flight and lost our room at the Wyndham Resort. The hotel is in a nice downtown location but the drive to the airport took 30-45 minutes. Our room had two queen beds with about a foot between them and about six-eight inches on the other side of each bed. Unfortunately, for the bed farthest from the entry that eight inches is the pathway to the bathroom and closet--a very tight fit and difficult to maneuver in the dark. The air conditioning was the loudest I have ever heard but it did cool the room. The bathroom was small and there was no place to put any toilet items. Going back and forth to the bedroom and squeezing through the tiny pathway was a pain. My primary complaint, however, was that the bathroom had been only superficially cleaned or not cleaned at all. There were several partially used bars of soap with hair in the bathtub and the toilet had evidence of someone having perhaps had diarrhea. The bathroom problems were discovered after we had prepared for bed and we just lived with them knowing we were leaving a few hours later. Perhaps the bathroom situation was an anomaly but the squeeze to get to the bathroom and the unbelievably loud AC is not. Staff were friendly.

We stayed for a week at this place located at downtown Nassau and enjoyed it a lot. Rooms are clean, the whole hotel has a nice old colonial style and a awesome, sometimes speaking parrot. Service was great at all times and we had some good drinks at the hotel bar. Absolutely recommendable if you are looking for a not so expensive stay at Nassau.

A very convenient place to stay with a bohemian vibe in downtown Nassau. The staff was very friendly and pleasant. The pool was a bit murky and my room wasn't luxurious by any stretch of the imagination, but it was a decent value for an expensive island. In fact, just about everything in Nassau costs about 40% more than it should, except the buses that will get you around for $1.50. Breakfast at the hotel was basic, but perfectly acceptable. The bed wasn't very comfortable, but the room was clean.

Stayed here in 2007 (had to put 2011 as no option for the old days) and admittedly looks a little better now if the photos are anything to go by but that dam crazy bird seems to still be there, rooms look to have had some furniture added and nicer curtains. Booked in via the internet while at sea in advance, long story but involved taking a bar to London by boat via the Bahamas. Choose it for central location and because we had a night either side of it booked in far nicer spots either end of the township so felt the middle area was being neglected so Towne hotel it was. Arrived and dumped the gear, took a shower etc and really was not impressed. Kind of got the feeling it was a halfway house for drug dealers or something, very dirty and seedy looking, with a crazy bird at reception. Room seemed a bit sandy and definitely a few insects were roaming round. I ended up having a big night on the island crazy waters at some all you can drink outfit and then hitting bamboo before waking up on Paradise Island in a far nicer hotel so really couldn’t complain about my night in the Towne hotel. Still wouldn’t really be racing back as I don’t think I would have been too keen to sleep in those beds.
