“Big ZERO”

I read a review on this property which stated it had been renovated, so I booked two rooms for the first week of May. I was amazed...in a very bad way...what were these reviews talking about! Obviously they lied. The place was a major dump! The rooms were filthy. Dust was crusted on the phone, the bathroom was moldy, the tub was ...well, lets say, we didn't feel clean after showering...the pillows were so nasty we had to put towels down before we went to sleep. We wore socks at all times...that is how bad it is...please people...be honest when reporting on a place...it almost ruined our trip..thanks for nothing....

“great for the price!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 May 2007

I stayed there for a spring break college trip with friends and had a great time! The pool was great, and although it was not on a beach, they were easily accessible.

We did not book our spring break package through one of the major companies, but instead paid for flight and hotel separately, and then bought a 5 night spring break pass. we ended up paying a lot less this way, but it was time consuming to plan everything. there was a bus that took us into town for $1, which I would definitely take advantage of if you are staying there.

If this is a spring break trip, don't expect to meet people at the hotel. It was a quiet place, but they didn't complain about noise in the rooms at all. Overall, it was a great experience, but if you are looking for a 24/7 party, this may not be the place.

“Don't stay here!”

We stayed at this hotel March 8th and 9th, 2007 before a scuba diving trip on a live-aboard. When we checked in, the room smelled like a holding tank and the water was turned off so the toilet wouldn't even flush. When I asked for another room the lady said they all smell like that and refused. I talked with Peter the manager the next day and all he would say was they're working on it. They're attitude was they didn't care and they only catered to the boating clientele in their marina. I had read the reviews on tripadvisor and orbitz and they were mostly good. I read where this hotel had been remodeled in 2005. It was under full blown construction now and from the looks of the progress will be for many years. The bar and restaurant were permanently closed. There was an ice bucket in the room but when I asked where the ice machine was I was told they didn't have one. I travel all over and I have never seen the attitude that I encountered here. I should have asked for some financial consideration. My wife and I just laugh now about our nightmare in Nassau.

“Hidden Gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 April 2006

this is truly a hidden gem that people (on a budget) should seriously consider. the staff were pleasant, warm & friendly. the pool area well maintained with lush trees and flowers overlooking the marina. the rooms (appointed with nice furniture) themselves will soon be acquiring full satellite TV (we only had a few stations, including HBO at the time of my stay), fridge, a good size bathroom & have a nice little seating area (with a pull out sofa) within. only wished the windows opened & that there was an alarm clock (but front desk gave us the needed wake up calls). across the street you will find a shopping plaza (with a supermarket amongst many other handy stores). while this hotel is not walking distance to downtown nassau it certainly is a quick drive (either by local bus, car or taxi), as well paradise island and there are plenty of good, economical restaurants along the same street. i will definately be going back soon---i promise!!
